General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

So... how do I go about seeing this image

There really wasn’t a lot to see, it was just a plan of the station and it showed a turn going into it and maybe a turn going out of it too. Only reason we even know what it was was because it had “BGW 2021” in the title box.

At this point in the process it is better for this picture not to be in the forums. This was an image that wasn’t supposed to be leaked and could cause the leaker/members lots of trouble. At least it will give us all some insight to what project 2021 could be until more is leaked!!

Sounds like it is much to do about nothing. Much to do meaning speculation/interest/risk to one's employment; and nothing meaning it doesn't sound like it really showed much to warrant all that...

My biggest question is what was the non-overhyped apparently bad news, and whether it has anything to do with the leak, which my guess would be no...

PS/edit: ...and, if there is/was a plan for something like Red Force, that would be disappointing to me.... so, if something were to cause a rethink of such a concept for 2021...might not be that bad of a thing IMHO.

If it’s of the style of Red Force, hopeful the route can be a bit more creative than straight back to the station.

The "not over-hyped" line came from @Zachary . The bearer of "bad news" was @Thomas because (safe to assume) whatever is speculated from looking at the leak isn't what he wanted to be built. ??

True... not overhyped I took as "significant" news. The other speculation, some of which was claimed to be perhaps overly-negative, could be because the news was bad for any range of reasons...from whether there would be a project 2021, to one's opinion on how it is materializing...

edit: So @Thomas, what's the nature of your immeasurable disappointment?

Update is up. Seems a description of the leaked plan we’d been discussion. So not much more than what we’ve said. But interesting still

Thanks @Zachary, very interesting.

So @Thomas and whomever else, what's the negativity based on? The number of cars and the type of coaster that might result?

If so... like I noted above, if like Red Force, I'd be disappointed too... Why bother with a top hat launch coaster... I guess they save cost by using a 2x train-based station, and maybe Intamin threw in a 2021 launcher on the cheap as part of a two-for special?

...but I can't say for sure myself based only on a rumored train outline, if that data is even correct. And I'm expecting another 50 pages of speculation starting now, so I'll see what everyone else thinks before agreeing with the "immeasurable disappointment."

Bottom-line though, if the update's speculation turns out to be true...IMHO this is a massive missed opportunity to build a real giga back there after fighting the good KCSA fight on the height, just to wind up with a commodity launcher, that probably won't even be that distinguished.... ?

I'd personally prefer more in the spirit of Fury 325 than i305, B&M and all, but I'm expecting an Intamin, and I'd rather i305-like than Red Force-like.

In any event, for those that saw the plans--how definitive did the train configuration even look? Would additional cars seemingly work (maybe only half were shown, to, if nothing else, try to obfuscate intent if leaked?) Any examples of something, other than what at least some of us fear, as an operating ride with that train configuration? Bring on those 50 pages of speculation... ?
