General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

Oh boy, I can't wait for project 2035. 10,000 ft coaster baby! Seriously, this whole debate so far is fucking bullshit. They are overblowing and slippery-slopping this shit hard.

He just said spending millions. Coaster confirmed.
  1. Not sure he knows anything we don't.
  2. Big towers can cost seven figures.
  3. Not suggesting this definitely isn't a roller coaster. Just pointing out there's no reason to believe this guy's comment constitutes proof.
  4. It took four bullet points for me to realize maybe you were being sarcastic. Crap.

I'm listening coming in and out of the room. Did I hear someone stating that Busch building larger rides in truces on historic value of the area?

This is real simple. Bgw brings in 2.6 to 3.3 million guests per year. Jamestown Settlement brings in 260 to 280000. As far as financials go, case closed.

I know you guys are having fun heckling the comments, but seriously, a guy just said that busch showed them a picture resembling the space needle?!?!?!

I wouldn’t look into that much...doubt it specifically looked like the Space Needle, most of these people probably just see something tall and equate it to a famous landmark they’ve heard of.

"We've been advised by the busch gardens folks, that we have a tall structure in mind, with a spire on top. Well, this is very tall, has a spire on top, so my speculation is that I could be looking right down my street at this very item. In fact the photo that the busch gardens representatives presented week or two ago in kingsmill i think it was taken in my driveway. Kinda a space needle thing but it's an eyesore..."

take that for what you will.

He's the park president, not me... but Mr. Lembke might have introduced himself after approaching the podium. Can't think of anything wrong with the idea...

I thought the same thing though I guess it became obvious he's a higher up even if you aren't familiar with his name or position

So was this person confusing lattice type structure with spires? Or could the spire mentioned be for the FAA lighting?

Sounds like this comment had some wires crossed though then again I wasn't at that meeting either.
