General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

I've actually been thinking a lot about this lately. RMC has said that the T-Rex is coming soon. What if this talk about this height waiver being critical decision going forward is really because SEAS has a time sensitive package deal with RMC for Gwazi and the first T-Rex?

While I agree that the average public doesn't care it's RMC, I was more thinking along the lines that the Trex concept looks so different than anything else out there; that alone should attract a lot of attention.
I think this is an excellent point. GP doesn't care about RMC or B&M or whoever. But look at how different the raptor track looks compared to a normal coaster. It would be seriously attention grabbing. I know people who know nothing about coasters but enjoy them and they look at a raptor and are fascinated because it just looks so different than what they expect out of a coaster.

Lump this in line with everyone who thinks a Cedar Fair park or a Six Flags park will be the first one to get a T-Rex. Until RMC actually announces they're building one (which they will), I don't believe any project in the foreseeable future will be one.

It was a year ago they said they hadn't done a lot of r&d on T-Rex, working more with the Raptor. The only T-Rex "concept" I've seen is via Planet Coaster other than an artist's rendering when RMC unveiled the track in '15. So, ok, back to one of my ideas...put in a Raptor.

I'm not saying that it's the most likely scenario. Just that someone has to be first. It would be cool if it was this one in my opinion.

Yep, they have enough demand for Raptors at the moment that they're not focusing on any T-Rex stuff for the immediate future. Once the Raptor demand dies down they'll start focusing on them but from the way Schilke and Grubb were talking there already seems to be a waiting list for Raptors.

And I’ll add, even in one year, the raptors out there have seemed to develop a bit of a rattle.

I said this when MMXX was Project Madrid and people pounded at TRex Giga. Just because it theoretically can, doesn’t mean the first one should. B&M didn’t go from small 100 foot coasters to Giga. They developed the track over time to do so. So let’s see one of these things in hyper form first, then we can ask for the Giga.

Here’s a comparison of a starflyer vs giga on the skyline. It would definitely be less obtrusive to just put in a starflyer, but if the giga stays relatively low to the ground for the rest of the layout there shouldn't be too much of an issue

Dude... BGW is not getting a 355 ft. tall roller coaster. Sorry for the 'definitive' sounding statement, but it just isn't happening people.
