General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

While Zachary is at work I’m going to parse out some of the ways “big” can be taken:
  1. Height. Duh.
  2. Single attraction, ride length + height.
  3. Overall scope of the project. This is impacting a larger area than we think
  4. Impact on the park. Maybe nothing alone is “big” but it’s “big” as in how the news can be seen.
  5. Big because it’s not one attraction, but multiple.
  6. Zachary is getting us worked up for his own fun.

So being consulted for my pessimistic outlook on things, I thoroughly have no idea what BGW has planned after having this information shared to me.

By how thoroughly BGW has thrown me off, I'm back to 2011 levels of hype and eagerly await any new information that comes in the next 18 months.

A likely fake plan was posted to the r/rollercoasters discord an hour or so ago

It's fake. The author confirmed after I identified the right-most site plan as Lego Movie World at Legoland Florida. Since I know everyone will be curious, here's the faked site plan in question.

Even with those being fake, it's neat to see a concept of that scale. It really looks like it could be an awesome long term plan.

First off - Sorry those that made menu requests, the boss of the house requested chicken (yeah, I know).

Second - Great write-up @Zachary . And great finds @kingadam .

Looking at the impact areas, I'm curious (because I couldn't find an example), are there any gigas that make a 90° turn at the top of the lift hill? Because if it's a giga, and the high point is basically at the service road junction, it seems to me it could only go towards the railroad tracks. I think a straight drop to the river would be running into MMXX.

I guess the same would go for a Red Force. Could it accelerate, crest the hill and make a 90° turn at the top?

That new area of soil tests looks like helix city to me. I wonder if you could do a Red Force type ride with some elements after the drop instead of just an air hill or two straightaway?

Just asking while the chicken is grilling ??

That instantly makes me think of Mack rides. They always do hypers with twisting drops.
