General Information:

"Project Drachen Spire," is a community-generated identifier for the Intamin-made, multi-launch, shuttle giga coaster that was originally slated to open at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2021. The attraction is planned to utilize the currently-vacant land behind Verbolten, Festhaus Park—the former home of Drachen Fire.

The coaster's main layout—as leaked before the addition was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic—featured two launches, two spikes (one spiral, one vertical-ish), and a couple of banked turns. Drachen Spire was designed to run two trains by means of a pair of switch tracks connecting the primary, shuttle portion of the layout to the station platform.

@Zachary used a significant portion of that space in his best guess layout. You just have to be careful about the space that is within the RPA buffer. The park can't build inside the buffer without an additional RPA filing.

Here is a concept I came to and it uses that area a lot. I love looking at these because it makes my full circuit hopes just a little higher.

I think red=incline, yellow=decline, green=launch, blue=normal, and purple=brake

At least we have a year for the 5 stages of grief to set in. Wishing for the dream-giga immediately after the hypermodern-blitz is flying a little too close to the sun...
It’s going to be fine. I’m in a persistent stage of acceptance. :)

The best part of all of this is that when we get the footer plan and there's an extra element or two in the shuttle coaster everyone will be thrilled. Yay tempered expectations!

PS: @warfelg, I'll look deeper into everything you posted soon. I'm at KD right now so it's not really an environment all that conducive to analyzing site plans. ?

I am curious what some of you think about what this rides possible theme could be...

Are we going for a Black Forest theme
Something as a tribute to Drachen Fire...Drachen Spire? Drachen Flight? Something with the word “Wyvern”.
I remember reading something about one of the buildings and the word arcade? Could it be a Oktoberfest theme carried over from arcade area and game area? I have always liked the that Autobahn and Verbolten compliment each other with the “car theme” could this also ? Throwback to Big.Bad Wolf? Wolfsbane? I am intrigued ?

Could just be a Drachen phallic-type-item-thingy

I kid, I kid. All in jest, my dearest fansofparks.

So after looking at all of the photos Zachary posted. I ran into this.

Before I explain what I found, I might as well introduce myself. My name is Chris, I'm a heavy equipment operator in the Air Force (currently deployed) and I recently have had some experience reading blue prints from what were constructing over here. So anyway back to the topic, what I noticed in the "Soil/Drainage drawings" I see this "Temporary soil stockpile area". Now its looks like it will only be about 5 feet tall, but unless its extremely temporary, I dont see them building on top of it. So unfortunately my assumption for the layout (as of right now) is with Zachary.
Glad someone else noticed this! Looking at the proposed grading plan (sheet C6.1), it looks like the "stockpile area" will be a permanent berm.

The one thing that is throwing me for a loop though is the graded access pathway that runs between the fenced area and the berm. The plans don't show any proposed hard surface there, so it seems odd they would have a ~20ft. wide grass area there. I can't really figure out why they would need that area graded as such...

Also, looking at the proposed planting plan Zachary included, paired with our understanding of the clearing limits, I have a hard time thinking this could be anything other than an out-and-back alignment along the straightaway before the highest point.

What about one of those coaster/water ride combos? Where it rides on a shuttle track and when they want it to end they drop the track into the water for splashdown.

I forget the name of the existing one..

@Adam Its been a while since I did the math, but I spotted that strange notch out too. What’s the grade on that.

Also that mound you pointed out, on another sheet it says “temporary ground storage”; so I would think that they plan on removing it.

It's roughly a 6%-9% grade when I scaled it out in AutoCAD using the image Zachary provided.

It definitely seems like the mound is going to be a temporary stockpile area for construction like you said, but the contours are also on the grading plan, which to me means that is the final configuration (i.e. a large berm). From my experience, the final grading plan is always the permanent condition once construction is complete. Obviously they could cut down the berm in the future if they want. I just can't exactly see the justification of a permanent berm, other than to break the line-of-sight to Bolt's show building. Maybe the graded path area could be a new connection to Lumberhack and the berm allows Bolt's building to be hidden from the guest-facing areas of FHP/LumberHack/2021?
