TBH I don't think there's going to really be any theming beyond "IT'S IRISH" (hence the colors). [...]
Yep, I think that's spot on. I've long lost hope for anything creative on the theming. And though I've also commented many times on the park being tone deaf relative to Irish history, the Troubles, etc.--especially as it relates to the Battle-of-
Éire and the prospect of "dueling" orange and green swings here, I think the park will ultimately steer clear of the dueling angle for the swings. Not necessarily because of a renewed appreciation for the aforementioned issues, but simply because that's a bit more work and theming for a simple swing. Besides, dueling works best, IMHO, with the dueling giants tie-in mentioned earlier--and there's no way they'd use that, especially having publicized a name already that has zero tie-in to the legend.
We're talking a swing with a generic, relatively insignificant (as Irish culture goes), and stereotypically-sounding name of Finnegan. They'll paint it orange and green. They'll let you think you're "flying" as you swing out over the creek. If they just leave it at that, which I really think they will...sure, you can argue the swings' colors signify...something...but most, including myself honestly, will say that's probably reading into it too much.
