Crane pad is gone. This actually looks like it will look pretty nice when it fills in.

Also according to the train conductor "Fannagan's Flyer will open memorial day" I kid you not they can't even effectively pass down the correct info.

If you had told me perhaps 3-4 years ago that Ireland was going to get a new ride, with access via a platform cantilevered off the side of its hill, called "Finnegan's Flyer" ... I would have visualized a very different type of ride system from this.

That said, I'm looking forward to riding it, and also to the beautiful new grove of trees the park surely will be planting beneath the ride to line the water. [DO IT]

If you had told me in 2005 that fifteen years later BGW would have...

  • A major flat ride in Killarney
  • His Royal Majesty Prince Elmo (& Pals)
  • A coaster in Aquitaine
  • A coaster in New France
  • A coaster literally right up against Apollo's lift
  • A freaking INTAMIN MULTI-LAUNCH
...I would have thought you were nuts. For better or worse, so much has changed!

That is a pretty good point. I remember following the excitement for Curse of DarKastle around then. Bummer it did not survive but I am very happy with how 2010-2020 has gone in additions. I LOVE S&S Screamin' Swings and I really like how FF goes over a drop off. On top of that Drop Tower, Verbolten which is unique, a fun little GCI, I like Tempesto, and MMXX coming soon. Not bad could of been a much worse decade of additions for sure. I mean look up at the road at poor Dorney (which I would say is easy to resolve because you can go to Hershey, SFGAdv, and Knoebels. Emphasis on "Knoebels").

Great pic! I've said this before, but I'd love an off-shot of the path starting at the bridge. It would take you under the train trestle and alongside Nessie, leading up to the path currently at the bottom of Nessie. It would serve two purposes. 1: It would offer nice, new views. 2: It would be a far more gentle incline for guests who have difficulty navigating the steep steps of Scotland. The only issue could be the pipeline.

Anyone going to be at the park today? Given how things looked yesterday I am thinking soft opening might be close to hand snd would love updates to see if it was worth swinging by this evening to see.

Testing continues with both sides running today. Lots of work going on to the underside of the platform and the compressor area. The construction wall is still up.

New railings installed in preparation for opening. I wish there was a better place for this but understand there isn’t one. The queue will block people from watching family ride and take photos. I have a feeling people squeezing through for that purpose will create a problem.

Do you think that will be a permanent queue, or is just an overflow for the first few years when everyone wants to ride it? Because long-term it might never be used

Those definitely look temp. My guess would be that they are just going to he around for a few months and then will be gone

Yes, they look like they will only be there for a short while....especially since i’ve seen a couple of people walk right into them as they are black and blend in.

Sounds like a good opportunity to setup a camera and get some funny films.

One poor guy was watching it test walking toward Ireland....took a dead center hit. I think that is the problem, no one is watching where they are walking but rather the ride. Once there is a line it should be fine.

It seems like something would have to go really wrong for a soft opening to not happen this weekend. From what I've been observing thus far today, the contractors are done with the final touches in the queue. Kevin and Co. have been back in the queue area talking for the last 30 minutes or so. Things are looking essentially complete at this point!

It's probably like the extra queue they used for Invadr near the bathrooms when it opened
Yes, thats exactly what it looks like other than them using the poles that go in the ground that can be removed these are screwed into the decking of the bridge making them permanant untill the newness wears off and they arent needed anymore.
