I may have figured out the real reason a tunnel was added over the first drop...

I just watched the POV, it looks like the bottom of the tunnel is open. From the looks of that the steam couldn't have been the reason in my opinion.

The tunnel covers the exact area during which the steam could interact with the train.

That said, someone on Facebook says that the bottom of the tunnel is actually open. If that's the case, my theory is straight out.

Then why not tunnel over the other 2 closer passes to the train. While watching the train go under on Saturday, the steam is literally feet from the 2 flyover sections.

I'm wondering the same thing. It is very strange- but I don't think anyone is really buying the idea that they put a tunnel on the first drop just to add another element to the coaster.

I'm a little confused about why anyone is concerned about steam from the train at all. The front 2 cars get a face full of it constantly if there is any breeze. Why should breezing through a puff of it on a coaster be of any concern?

The park has actually been sued over a face full of steam on a coaster before (reason for the fog being removed from Loch Ness Monster). I don't have time at the moment to dig up the link, but it has been discussed (and credibly sourced) previously on the forum.

Why do I feel the solution to a potential face-full of steam is as simple as instructing the train engineers not to blow steam/ the whistle when in close proximity or under the coaster structure?...

Someone correct me if they know the actual solution, though.

If you were part of the "Decide the Ride" campaign the park had for Invadr, they sent emails to sign up to be the first to ride on the 7th! Also they said there is one last surprise..." interesting...

I JUST got the email and the link says this.

InvadR RSVP

Expired

Reservations to be among the first to ride InvadR on April 7 are no longer available. We invite you to still join us on April 7 for opening day festivities.

VERY nice job, indeed.

I honestly think the whole setup was fundamentally flawed. First come, first serve with a very limited number to a large email list in the middle of the work day. With such limited numbers, this should have been a raffle. Plus, there's no telling how many people reserved one who won't be able to attend because the actual event is in the middle of a work/school day...

i got in for the reservation for the first to ride. they have been hooking me up with this new ride i think its a sign!!!!!
