No chance this is a traditional Mine-Ride. I was referring to a mine-themed spinner. Hahaha.

You know who could supply a wooden frame with steel track these days though...
RMC! Yesssssss

Great idea! The ride should be called "its not going to happen" themed to....yep,you guessed it! Nothing! Its not going to happen. Story over.

Hahaha I'm not sure what's going on anymore, but I think some people might need a twelve step program when this ride is officially announced.

I'm interested in the elevated path more than anything at this point. Elevation always creates a tactical advantage.

RE: Project 2017

A fricking mine train? Seriously? Why on god's green earth would they add something that pointless in this day and age? The mine train was something of the 1960's & 70's and was "the thing" back then. That isnt the case today.

Well, back on topic. Yay for Mack spinners! For the area given, it's the most logical addition.

RE: Project 2017

I was growing tired of the constant baseless assertions and nonsensical theories so I set out on a quest:

Using the published information, I wanted to formulate a different solution to the layout than Unagi did.

I think Unagi's layout looks like the most likely based on the clearing plans and, honestly, probably makes the most sense overall. That said, I really wanted to challenge myself to see other possibilities.

Here's what I came up with:

WCLGr2b.png

Key:
Purple = Station
Blue = Track
Red = Brakes
Yellow = Vertical Lift
Green = Lift
Pink = Le Scoot

I designed the above concept with a Mack spinner in mind (as is immediately apparent from the vertical lift). At the top of the lift, my design meanders above the log flume for a minute similar to how Cobra's Curse starts. I imagine a theoretical Mack spinner following this route would feature a Cobra's Curse-like outside banked turn as well. After the moment of meandering, the cars dive into the first part of the main course, through the first turn-around, and up into the mid-course brake run.

From the midcourse, the trains traverse a series of progressively smaller turns until hitting the second lift. This lift would take the coaster up to its highest point of 60 feet before dropping it into a downward left turn and into the tunnel below. After the tunnel, the trains leap over the railroad, spin through a half-helix, cross over the train tracks again, and then enter a series of S-Curves near the queue before hitting the final brakes.

RE: Project 2017

not bad. biggest problems I see are

1) the lift would almost certainly be included in the building height, which we know to be 23' - and even if you say that would exclude actual ride structure, I'm not sure why there would even be a building? especially one bigger than the station.

2) the turn after the midcourse brake seems awfully swoopy and uncharacteristic of mack spinners. see CC's post brake for comparison, it's like the world's tightest helix or something

3) not a whole lot of height to clear the train track at the lift hill

4) Looking at the space between the trench and the train tracks. not a whole lot of space there. the trench starts about 7' below track level and it only has about 16 horizontal feet between the trench and the tracks so it has to get far enough up above the train. that's a pretty steep incline, and I'm having a hard time picturing anything other than a first drop with that profile

5) I suppose you could cross the train tracks as you come in toward the end, but your brake run is too short to be effective, and it's also in an area where there are a few trees that appear to be staying

So Google Maps hasn't been updated yet, but the footprint was there.  I managed to fit Fury 325 back there. There's still a chance for a really large coaster.

I hope by "fit" you meant "scaled down."

Well if you want to ruin a joke, yes.
I get trolled way too easily. Never can tell when someone is being serious or not, but should have seen that one haha

For some reason I'm not feeling the park is going to do a coaster. I think they're setting us up for a curveball and go in a totally different direction. Not saying it's going to be bad but just think it'll be different.

I think we are all in agreement this will be a coaster if you look at the plans carefully. Topographical markings, elevations, tree markings and landscaping descriptors are the biggest clues. Additionally, they clearly outline a section for lockers and what will be presumably an on-ride photo booth at the exit. Those are two keen giveaways for a coaster of some sort. Parks typically don't install lockers and booths at the exit for many other rides other than that.

If I'm wrong, I shall ride EiTA 30 times in a row opening day. :p
