RE: Project 2017

Manta in SD has a segment after the second launch were it actually launches up hill a wee bit,so it is possible. The ride type could very easily fit into a layout of some sort. My guess is now something like manta at SD. I'm still stuck on a launch considering it would be quite a slow ride. If its not a launch, or a chain lift coaster over 60' they may as well put in Sesame Street World

*Forest of Fun.

Regarding a launch, time will tell. I have a hunch it won't be though. Considering Pesto and Verbolten both are. A 60 foot height makes a lift seem a little more likely.

So Google Maps hasn't been updated yet, but the footprint was there.  I managed to fit Fury 325 back there.  There's still a chance for a really large coaster.
Good! Giga it is

^^Oh that's fantastic.

GMONEY - I HIGHLY doubt they would add 3 launch coasters back to back to back, especially in such a short time frame...
I also thought the same thing. But I went into serious thinking. Although I'm disappointed that it will likely be a Mack Spinner. I find a launch coaster (Manta like ride in SD) to be quite possible. This may be a weird comparison but I'm going to use kings dominion. Busch and KD are partnered now(has nothing to do with my theory but...) KD has 3 launch coasters. Flight, volcano, backlot. Which are all usually in the top 5 ride wait times when you go. Maybe BG noticed that they are all still fun and want top top KD for the launch capital of the world
. It would do great business. I'm not saying that BG wants to be like them, but because of finances, maybe BG wants to attract some of KD customers and bring them to the park? So far the 2 launchers so far kinda have similarities with flight, and volcano. Manta would show similarities with backlot... Sounds abit crazy but are they attempting to attract KD fans? Could we see Most Beauty and launch capital at the park? (considering they would be tied in count)

I hope by "fit" you meant "scaled down."

That partnership was strictly a joint-venture within the sales department to sell more tickets throughout the region.

By no means do the design departments on a corporate level or regional level have any sort of relationship. A park most likely won't invest this heavily to compete with a coaster the size of Backlot Stunt Coaster. If anything, Verbolten is a practical "response" to it.

"Most beauty and launch capital" isn't a viable title that the GP will care about. Hell, it isn't even a title.

Let's try to use practical reasoning when it comes to predicting new attractions "GMoney". Whether it be on a micro level, or macro level, the design process is much more complex than you think.

RE: Project 2017

My choice of words were abit off when i said partnered(should've clarified that) also, I agree with you that Busch gardens wouldn't compete with backlot. Plus: Aren't there power incompatibilities at the park? Verbolten had to put on a separate grid from what i understand. A overheard a employee at Busch explaining that if a train were to begin its 2nd launch while another is starting its first at the same time that power would go out in parts of the park. Tempasta is connected to some other contraption( i have no knowledge of wiring, explains why i am asking) as the worker stated, due to the high electricity would interfere with parts as the park as well. Can somebody explain this to me and also add the consequences to yet a third launch coaster?

Also has anybody thought about the possibility of a mine train? Most of them usually involve 2 or more lift hills and almost always are under 60' tall. Is that an unreasonable prediction? It would be the first in Virginia. If a mine train is to be a possibility what manufacturers would Busch be looking at?

I thought for sure GMONEYSWERVE was a certified electrician... Well I must admit I have no idea about the technical aspects to the electric grid. But I will say that it simply doesn't make sense to add another launched coaster. Even a ride like Manta San Diego still has generally relatable characteristics with Verbolten. Launch, turns, hills etc. As far as a Flyer goes, I actually hope this isn't a flyer. Not because I don't want to see one at BGW, but because it's the wrong location for a flyer. If BGW builds a flyer that doesn't utilize the Rhine River in some way is waste of potential for that ride design. That's not even getting into the size of the location that's in these plans. Anything's possible, but I highly doubt it's not a spinner.

Ok thanks anyways, I appreciate the electrician joke. I don't see the flyer happening either, though I would appreciate having a B&M flyer somewhere around here it just isn't the location for it.
A quick thought, and a mine train actually dosnt sound to far off. Could be one of the suspended models? Strange enough I'd like to see the mine train before I see the spinner.

2017- Mine Train it is. What do you think of the possibility of a mine train? It sounds stupid but when you think about it. Its what the park needs most.

I agree! A short 60' lift... followed by a drop into a tunnel that is 275' deep.

It'll then go under the Rhine, and come up in England and do a tight turn before going back into the tunnel, and back to New France. It'll be called the Chunnel.

RE: Project 2017

CHUNNEL! Definite Season Pass purchase if so. It's logical and it fits into the blueprints. I do like a Mine-Ride theme for this ride whatever it is. It would be appropriate for the feel of the Hamlet. I know mine-rides are kind of numerous and almost cliche, but I think that's because the theme is a working formula.

I agree! If you add strong themeing I feel that it would work. There's just 1 problem behind the mime train... What manufactures make Mine Trains that Busch trusts? Mack dosnt make them, nmNkr does B&M. Maybe there's a 3rd party company who could make it? Intamin makes them but that's out of the question.

Mine Train actually makes a lot of sense. It's a family coaster, as has been speculated this ride would be. Also, they rely more on bunny hops with some turns/helixes. This is closer to what this layout appears to be. A spinner needs lots of turns and curves (and sharp ones) to get the spinning effect, and the layout seems to be lacking of this.

For comparison, the one at Six Flags Great Adventure is 60' high with a length of 2,665 ft, which is quite a bit larger than I think would fit at BGW. So, a Mine Train would work with the constraints given.

However, I doubt it would actually be themed as a mine train. While there are quite a few mines in Quebec (as well as other parts of Canada - I just looked this up), the GP would not make the connection. Also, Grover's is themed as a train. If this is meant to fil a gap between Grover and Verbolten, it won't be themed as a train or a car (or probably any other form of ground transportation).

RE: Project 2017

again I pose this question:

Why do the plans show clearing over 40 feet wide in most places?

why would a mine train need to be cleared out that much when they could take advantage of a nice forested setting?

RE: Project 2017

No chance this is a traditional Mine-Ride. I was referring to a mine-themed spinner. Hahaha.

You know who could supply a wooden frame with steel track these days though...
RMC! Yesssssss

Vekoma makes quite a few different family coasters, including a Boomerang and Mine Train. They made Mt. Everest at Disney.

Maybe for theming.
