There are two buildings on the map.  None of which are specified as anything.  One of those could be the elevator.

I understand, but none of the buildings planned are supposed to go over 23' in height, as you can see below. That doesn't seem to be a decent height for an elevator lift.

RE: Project 2017

OK, so I looked at the model, and a video of the model from insidethemagic.net, and I came up with these

Is it possible the elevator lifts out of the building? Obviously something must lift the ride 60.' Whatever the lift is, it is not included on the plans. Looking at the CC model, the elevator is scaffolding like a lift hill would be, or even the "lattice" structural supports of Tempesto.

Is it possible that the elevator would show up in the ride plans as a ride element rather than in the site plans as a full blown building?

Yes, it's definitely possible. However, CC's plans do show the elevator lift as a building structure, so I would think it probable that if there was one we would see it. But it's possible it may show up later, I was just trying to make the point that it's unlikely any of the current buildings displayed will be/contain an elevator lift.

RE: Project 2017

One thing I just realized while looking at the track layout I did is that there actually is a big difference in how the track proceeds from the 2nd building. In CC, it comes out of the elevator and makes a sharp left turn. But, in BGW ride, it has to go straight before making the turn to go into the underpass.

So, what if instead of an elevator, BGW's version has a regular lift? If this was the case, instead of winding around the elevator, like in CC, maybe it would cross in front of the station and over the beginning of the lift? This might give it the room it needs to complete the elements that were squeezed in.

A second issue with the CC overlay on the plan is that it doesn't use all of the cleared area.

CC's track between the elevator and what looks like a lift hill fits really well into the area at BGW. Perhaps the 2nd half of the ride (from the lift hill to the return to the station) will be significantly different than CC, while the 1st half is mostly the same? (maybe a lift hill taking the place of the elevator?)

Pardon the terrible drawing (Paint isn't the best tool), but here is the track layout over top of the CC site plan if it helps anyone.

RE: Project 2017

Not that it's relevant here, but you're missing the helix between the midcourse brake and lift hill on CC.

RE: Project 2017

We could actually be looking at a woodie like ZDTs Switchback. It's height stats are a 58 foot drop with a max height of 63. The twists and turns of the areas that have been marked to be cleared don't look super tight like I would expect a spinner able to do. A kid friendly wooden would really complete New France.

Something tells me that this project isn't the only thing they are working on. It's a little early for a smaller ride to be teased so I suspect there could be 2 projects being worked on and we are left to guess about the smaller one.

Is there a scale on this plan? Or does anyone know it? I can't find one on the page. I'd like to compare that to a map/birds eye view of the BGW site at the same scale.

RE: Project 2017

Soooooo it looks like Thomas is right. it's going to be a spinner ride...like the new one they are building at BGT. But no snake....just Pusheen on top. (or maybe a crazy logger or something)

My best (educated) guess would be 60 scale. Printed it at 100% and used a scale to measure a known distance on the plans (measured on Google Maps first). Not very accurate considering I don't have a plotter and the image is blurry, but it will do.

Now, talking about gaps here. Am I the only one who found BBW more intense than verbolten? The rocking back and forth on the ride and the turns were somewhat intense to me, I think Verbolten and BBW are on the same intensity levels. :s

RE: Project 2017

I personally do believe we're looking at the official plans.

Here's my reasoning:

1. There has been some media coverage between the park and PFN (i.e The VA Gazzette headlining the "war" between PFN and BGW) So, in a sense this is their way of being "one step ahead of Zachary"

2. They realized how much of a marketing disaster Tempesto was, drawing little to no additional revenue into the park. So starting to tease this ride now and promoting it throughout the park during the 2016 season seems very likely.

3. From an enthusiasts standpoint, yes Tempesto wasn't a "major" addition. But, the GP and the park viewed it and marketed it as a thrill ride. So we might be looking at a 42 inch height required ride to fill a "void."

4. A ride of this scale, and style will further add to the diversity of options within the park. Which I have no problem with.

Time will tell, I guess.

Have you done the same for the BGW plans?

It seems like they were drawn at a 75-scale, even though that's not a typical engineering scale. The only problem is that the PDF of the plans was plotted at 60% since the scale on the plans measures 0.6" rather than 1". So with that in mind, if you were to measure something in the PDF, the scale you would go by would be 1" = 125' (75*1/0.6). Sorry if that is at all confusing.
