Stupid question. Like, really. But can I ask... what happens if there's a termite situation? Is that a thing? I'm not familiar with them but in cartoons they look pretty serious.

I'm legit asking, too. Would that be a real threat to a ride like this? Do they have to spray for bugs a lot or what?

And I'm asking because even though I've been riding coasters all my life I still get on one and wonder "is today the day something horrible happens?" And I'm not going to exclude termites from that phobia. That would be discrimination. Also I hate bugs.
Usually in the case of woodies, the wood is treated for termite prevention and weathering prevention. Of course this only lasts so long. From what I understand, usual maintenance regiments include termite prevention when they're walking the track. If they come appear they replace the infected boards and look/exterminate the source. Usually it doesn't get to that degree.

A backpack sprayer full of pesticide once a year would keep bugs away if they wanted to do that. You know, the same kind of thing that most people have done at their house to prevent infestation.

Okay, so according to my step dad who, as I've mentioned before, is part of the James City County inspection crew, heard that Busch wants to have a soft open for Invadr on Monday. This is the exact text my mom sent me:

"[Step dad's name] said BG was planning to open Invadr Monday but they have to build a four foot wall for one of the corners and Friday it's going to rain all day and they have to be done to get their final inspection."

So Busch Gardens is definitely planning a soft open for Invadr early next week so keep an eye out for it.

Rode through the area on the train today. A little disappointed in the fact that the area is so devoid of trees, and the tunnel at the bottom is merely so an access road can cross. Given the plantings/themeing/staging with the other coasters, they are really behind the 8-ball here.

I feel like more trees, some facades on the bottom tunnel, some cool shields, battle armor, weapons along the railing would really do this ride some good.

Granted the other coasters such as Apollo and Alpengiest have had around a decade or so for the foliage to grow in. Outside of Verbolten BG isn't huge on theming around the course of a coaster. Primarily the plazas, queues, and stations get decked out and from the looks of things so far I don't think InvadR will disappoint on that front.

I was thinking more the opportunity for things to grow in the area around the ride. I dunno. Maybe it's because Boulder Dash is my favorite woodie that I feel like more should have foliage around it to raise the excitement.

I do love their theming in the que areas and with the trains too. I just think when you get elements like: entry and bridge with Verbolten, the helix of Nessie, the tunnel on Apollo, all the ski shop stuff and second half of Alpie, then the "drawbridge" look for Griff; Invadr is kinda underwhelming IMO, especially the fact that the bottom of the first drop is just a paved road that you pass under and there's nothing to "theme" up that pass.

I'm not sure how anyone can predict what the area will end up looking like, until they actually stop testing and start landscaping.

This!

And I don't know why anyone is complaining about lack of theming and landscaping. The area is still a fresh construction site that needed a ton of vegetation removed in order to build a coaster there.

Does anyone really think that they could just immediately replant trees and plants that they removed in order to have theming ready by opening?

Look around the park! Most of the existing trees are still bare and don't have any foliage on them yet.
