Sorry about the delay but, um, good bad things come to those who wait...

I've been told by a very reliable source that Tempesto's train has stiff, rubberized-plastic, over-the-shoulder restrains (OTSRs) similar to the original (read: pre-straps) red Intimidator 305 restraints (picture). For those of you who don't know, all the other versions of this same coaster run exclusively with lap bars (picture).

To be perfectly honest, finally having a coaster at Busch Gardens Williamsburg that inverted with only a lap bar was the one thing I was looking forward to with the addition of Tempesto. For some insane reason the park has found a way to screw that up too. Good going Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Don't bash me here but I've heard Superman is a pain to load with the seat belts hidden so hopefully this will speed up the operations. Maybe the park will eventually pull a FOF and add lap bars in the future. I'm very interested to see what the restraints look like as Premier hasn't made OTSR in years.

I've been told that they are very similar to i305's old restraints except that they bulge forward in the front. Someone else also told me that, in their opinion, they look very uncomfortable. Lets hope that's not the case.

One small advantage: No annoying and very pesky leg restraints.

Anyways, thumbs down on this decision, BGW.

Well it turns out Premier did make a OTSR for Six Flags New England.

They appear to have a bulge in the front so this could possibly be the restraint system used. If so, ouch is all I can say.
EDIT: Look at the red portion of the restraint in the concept art and then look at the green portion of the OTSR on the Premier invert train. Very similar.

Wow. They managed to double their loading time! That 4 hour line is now going to be 6! Congrats BGW! Perhaps they're going for the longest wait time ever recorded!

Oh, BGW is definitely going to the extreme. If you mean by fitting the most restraining devices on one seat in the history of a roller coaster.

I'm not a fan of the current i305 restraints, as they press down on my shoulders too much. But, the fact that they changed them is a sign that those restraints shouldn't be on a coaster. At that point, the ride is no longer fun it's just a torture device.

Start placing your bets to see how long they last?

So... Did BGW just pull a TOGO!? I swear that's the same restraint system description that Viper had.

Also I was hoping that Tempesto would be able to exceed its capacity that I predicted but with all that restraint checking the attendants will have to do I guess I'm gonna have to ignore it entirely then.

Judging by the rider cams and knowing that two trains has some serious airtime I imagine three trains will be hauling around the track. If the airtime is as I intense as imagine OTSR aren't that bad of an idea. But then again this is coming from someone with no experience with roller coaster engineering and safety on rollercoasters.
