Since it is so close to AC, I think a chariot race/Circus Maximus theme would have blended well with the surroundings.

I find it amazing that Johnathan15 "liked" my post but trashed Applesauce where we say the exact same thing...

Perhaps since this issue isn't bound to die down, perhaps the staff should move this conversation to another thread.  Perhaps called, "Let's bitch about ParkFans."

I don't wish to "bitch" about ParkFans. I wish to have a normal convo without ANYBODY making a comment about people fighting. You're only fueling the fire. I really hate when y'all gang up on me just because I have an opinion and like everybody else's posts but mine. As well as bash the leader of another forum when in real life you wouldn't say it to their face. Insensitivity at its finest. I'm leaving it alone and going back on topic, but I wish respect even if you hate me.

Anyway, can somebody tell me why they didn't consider a dual-loading station for a low-capacity flat.

Probably because they don't have the space and the train travels through the station a couple times during the ride.

EDIT

There is a version of this ride that has dual-loading, I believe it is in Japan Mexico.  None of us know why the park chose what they chose or why.  The best we can do is speculate wildly without any hard facts.

It amazes me (from looking at the map) that they could've picked ANY other spot and would've still have had enough room for a dual station... Where has the old Busch gone?

Keep in mind they have to go through a community board prior to installation of any attractions. Kingsmill would have raised royal Hell if this was placed towards the back of the park where it could obstruct the skyline. Mach Tower was enough of a challenge.

You should also take into consideration there is land resevered for wildlife. There's more to the park than what's printed on the map...

Plus, this is a small footprint ride, so they felt it would be appropriate to occupy a small amount of land. They found that land and acted upon it. It's far enough away from Kingsmill, and it didn't require a lot of land movement. Everybody wins.

Zombie Ride under construction at Bosque Magico in Mexico is being built with a dual loading station, and two of the original two car trains. Rumor has it that it will complete the circuit twice to allow time for the loading of the second train. Honestly, I don't know that with the two car trains, and the time it takes for the transfer in the station to move, that it would have much higher capacity than Tempesto with a three car train.

There is a lot more that could go wrong/break with the 152 extra moving parts associated with the transfer track in the dual loading configuration. Maybe in this case, the park felt that simple was better and less maintenance.

I think it could honestly be the space... the station itself is bigger and, of course, the amount of extra queue needed. This ride is already being crammed in as it is.

Well it actually helps with efficiency in a way to not have a duel station. If you only use one side, the employees have to leave the walkway, the track has to line up, the okay is given for launch, once the circuit is complete the track moves back over and locks into position. I would rather see a duel station but I imagine after the first year or two one side would just collect dust since it saves money. Could we expect Tempesto to be ready by Pass Member Preview Day?

I don't see it being anywhere near ready for Preview Day. If they've slowed construction down for winter, despite the fact that the track is complete, they still have the station and queue to work on.

I could see it being open for Spring Break, but more likely it'll be opening sometime in May. Providing it doesn't become like Mach Tower and have a ton of problems.

Dual station loading is already in use at Six Flags St. Louis and Six Flags over Texas with the Mr. Freezes. They've been in operation for 16 years and still run both sides. It would actually waste money if they used this system only to shut down one side and still have the shifting station in use besides keeping a train off for maintenance.

Also since it's being brought up yet again about the ride's potential capacity I'll run the numbers again:

Cycle Time: 60 seconds
Unload/dispatch time: 30 seconds
Total Ride time: 90 seconds
Dispatches/hr: 40
Seats: 18
Hourly capacity: 720

Superman: Ultimate Flight (and its brother Sky Scream in Germany) have an unofficial maximum capacity of 480 riders per hour. I say unofficial because it has been reported that its a modest estimate and has been beaten a number of times with a good crew. If BGW runs things the same way I would not be surprised if my estimate is beaten.

Now for the Zombie Coaster in Mexico. A full circuit cycle at speed on these rides takes ~20 seconds, so adding that to the ride time making it 80 seconds and creating a reduced dispatch time (since all the loading/unloading is handled while the second train is cycled) only accounting for the time it takes to change tracks in the total cycle time. The Mr. Freeze coasters take about 10 seconds to change tracks for a cycle, using what will likely be the same technology Zombie coaster will have. If that transfer time is the same for Zombie coaster (considering moving track has to have some sort of physical connection with the track the train will be using to travel on on both ends instead of 1 like with the Mr. Freezes) you still end up with a total ride time of 90 seconds. Voila, pretty much the same capacity.

It was said that the announcement would be in March so the typical late May opening date seems right. If thats the case then that's plenty of time to finish everything.
