RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia
The park is being a genius, actually.
By not announcing the coaster during their exciting five minutes of announcements, they're keeping the public on the edge of their seats wondering what is happening in Festa the whole time without spending a dime on marketing. Then when the coaster opens next spring, with the public knowing nothing about it, everyone will be so surprised to find out, oh! They built a coaster! This way people will see just how fun and spontaneous the park is, and they will be too surprised to realize just what a big pile of crap the coaster really is.
Or corporate is full of even bigger fools than we thought. They literally threw away their best shot at scoring any points for this horrid ride. And really, between the obvious and hideous destruction of woods in Vesta (construction fences all along the area, by the way) and the level of knowledge already speculated on fan sites like this, everyone ALREADY KNOWS something is happening. I swear, when Carl finished and walked off I was having a greater "THAT was IT?!" moment than when I rode Volcano for the first time. Obviously the coaster was the only reason anybody really even came in the first place.
So. Seriously. Why in the bloody hell didn't they announce the coaster today? Are they just going to announce it on Facebook, because that is /such/ a grand way of announcing a roller coaster. Clearly the ride is a desperate move to scrape up a few more pennies, it certainly won't bring many people in long term... so why aren't they doing literally EVERYTHING they can do to make the public as excited about this as they can? I still don't understand. What the hell?!
Maybe Carl was just afraid of having tomatoes thrown at him.
