RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

Whoa! That was fast! (Starts applauding) This thing could open on opening day. Also, I just realized could this be open for Christmastown 2015? I'm not sure what the minimum requirement for temperature is.

Those are most definitely the worst of the worst photos. After the shock is gone, the ride will begin to develop, and be slowly accepted by everyone. Only because we have no choice in the matter. It is coming whether we like it or not! (Thanks for the photos Luke!)

I had hoped that this whole thing was a bad dream... that maybe Chunk and Sloth and the Goonies would race in at the last moment with the bag of jewels that they'd gotten from One Eyed Willie's ship... you know, the ones that the Fratellis didn't find in Mikey's bag of marbles... and then Rosalita would yell ¡Ay, Dios Mio! and tell them in Spanish not to sign the contracts, and then Mouth would translate and they'd grab the pen from the stooges from corporate and the contracts for this crappy, ugly ride wouldn't get signed, and then there would be pizza and maybe Data could design a totally boss new attraction and...

oh, never mind :(

Hahaahaha!^^ I had the same kind of thought in a very different context tonight while driving home from work. I saw the lottery billboard on the interstate at 180 million and thought 'If I won, I'd donate a B&M manufactured wingrider clone of Drachen Fire to BGW pending a written agreement to remove this new attraction'....The fratelles' win this time though. (I dont play the lotto)

Aagh! It's all moving so quickly. :( Is Splashus Maximus still standing? I no longer live in the Williamsburg area, and I'm afraid it'll disappear before I have the chance to visit the park again...I'm glad the park is trying to actually stay on top of its projects, but I have weird Festa nostalgia!

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

It still is, it typically closes sometime in the fall depending on weather. So it will close due to weather before any really work should be expected.

Nice thought, Mazakman. I would love to see what B&M could do to rebirth Drachen Fire. Despite the ride, I rarely made a visit to the park without riding Drachen Fire. Kudos to Arrow for trying. I just realized Kumba at BGT is somewhat close to what Mazakman's wish might produce in Williamsburg.

It should be known that on the current greenery plans they don't plan on planting a single tree after construction, just azaleas, which always seem to be half dead when I look at them inside the park, and some other shrub I've never heard about before. Greenery plans always usually change, as it changed majorly with Colossal Curl, in fact what they planted was never on the greenery plans. But as it stands now, it's not looking like these trees are going to be replanted.

They have plenty of room on the outside of the ride, and near the plaza area, go look at the plans again.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

After watching the animation POV for the sister 'zombie ride', they are in fact advertising their installation as making 2 laps around the circuit. Since capacity is already going to be bad, I'm rooting for this to happen here also.

Out of curiosity Matthew, what's the other shrubbery? I'm kind of a DIY landscaper.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

The common name is Sakaki, I tried googling it, but came out with a lot of varying answers.

Looks like an East Asian evergreen tree-like flowering shrub.

So, the greenery still fits with the Marco-Polo-bringing-stuff-back-from-Asia theme.
