RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

I was wondering the same thing about the Mach seats. That sounds incredibly dangerous and highly unlikely.

Do we think this will be the "Tempesto" for which SEAS recently filed a Trademark application?

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

What probably saddens me most about this is that one more million dollars or less could get them a really good, crowd-pleasing, unique coaster by a company called Chance Rides.
S:UF cost SFDK 6 million, Lightning Run cost 7 million according to Wikipedia.
And since the park doesn't care that they're broke 1 million isn't much of a difference.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

I'm going to go here, but imagine if London Rocks didn't cost so much. Imagine what we could have got.

Shows don't appeal to everyone and neither do rides. But I'm sure rides appeal to a whole lot more. So why did London Rocks need such a huge budget when a higher ride budget would appeal to a lot more people. Man I would love to see what goes on into Scott G.'s head. He's not the only person who has to get stuff done to make the park successful.

And with the extra car, extra supports, more power to launch the heavier train, clearing all those beautiful trees, inflation, and all this so-called "theming" I'm sure this is going to total 7 million if not more.

Probably more like 8 Million with the incoming Festa renovations.

Did anyone else notice that in the title block of all of Premier's structural plans they had "Busch Gardens Amped"? Could "Amped" be the name of the ride? It's pretty fitting considering the theming documents, unless it's just Premier's code-name for the BG coaster.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

So...what about the New France territory you mentioned, Zach?

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

WOW! That took a lot of reading! :) I am excited for this new ride! I just wish that it did not involve the removal of so many trees! Festa Italia has so much potential, but having this fairly large coaster put between a rock and a hard place sort of ruins it for me. The section has a limited amount of trees as it is, so why take away from that?! You have a prime location in oktoberfest behind Verbolten. Trees are already cleared there, and nothing happens there anymore, so why not put this there? Also, what is with the theme? A cheapo bike stunt show? Really? The decorations are cheesy, and the theme is all around "Bleh". What happened to the keen eye used for Verbolten? That ride has so much themeing, yet this one is getting nothing but posters. I will just have to wait to see how it all turns out.

It seems like the park can't simply renovate a hamlet these days, it needs a ride to go along with it, hence why the new ride is being crammed into festa. Octoberfest doesn't need to be renovated since it just was with Verbolten and Mach tower.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

The general public wants rides not hamlet renovations unless they renovated it to an entire new theme like England to Ireland. Then it can be marketed as a whole new place.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

Remember that BGW at the end of the day is a business. More rides to tout in the portfolio (in a perfect world with proper marketing) creates business, no matter how much quality does or does not go into the ride from the perspective of enthusiasts like us. We are in an era of this park's history that runs with this concept, whether we like it or not I'm afraid.

That being said, who's going opening day? ;-)

There's no way I'm going to put down the money for a QQ. I'll just wait in the 3 hour line, and then complain about the sucky experience with the rest of the GP on Facebook.

Nah, that's probably a new show for San Marco by Scott Gasparich.
