I know this isn't quite what you were going for... but at least this way they could get some free marketing while reusing some old props.

It is extremely weird that there hasn't been any type of announcement. I'm guessing it will be in January but you would think they'd want to advertise it during all these $12 ticket days with the park filled to the brim.

I agree with many of the comments in the fact that it is quite odd that the park has yet to announce this new attraction. Even more odd is that local media outlets in HRVA (VA Gazette, Daily Press, WTKR-TV, WAVY-TV, etc.) still have not yet run a story about the new coaster, that is clearly visible from the parking lot. Whatever the reason, the park has taken a strategic decision to delay this announcement. If I had to make a guess I would imagine that the park makes the announcement very early in January as they shift marketing and promotions from Christmas Town to the new 2015 season.

I think rvadude85 makes a good point. Why aren't the local news companies trying to squeeze a story out of this? These are the same people who copied BGWFans' plans (with credit) and reported on BGW building s wooden coaster or something. You'd think the news guys would be all over this "secret" coaster right now, perhaps taking advantage of the fact that they would be "first" to announce it.

Maybe that's what BGW was hoping would hapoen? That the news companies would do all their marketing for them? :p

Because the park gives them "early access" to new attractions, shows, etc. If they were to run a story about the new coaster without the park's permission, they jeopardize that. Surely you realize that's why BGWFans is never invited to anything, right?
