Maybe this will be the first ride that's announced after it opens?

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have a "formal" announcement. Just advertise it around the beginning of the season and summer months (peak tourist season), in hopes to make people say "oh I didn't know they got a new ride!" to draw people into the park to try out this "new ride." When really it's a clone that the GP most likely doesn't know about. They save money, in hopes to gain some quick revenue. It's either going to work brilliantly or fail terribly. We shall see...

Maybe the reason they aren't marketing this ride in any way shape or form is because of the 'Mach Tower' effect.

This is something I've thought about. They spent a lot of money to advertise Mach Tower everywhere. In turn the ride didn't work or open properly and they essentially wasted that marketing money. Since then, Verbolten didn't get the same attention, and it seems like it has gotten even worse with this new ride.

Even though higher level marketing does cost money they can still do tons of free marketing. It may not get you too far but when you are spending $X million on something, you want to do something at least. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are free... They already have a website... They just have to add on another ride to the attractions. They can also type up a press release and send it to the local news stations.

No you can't get billboards, commercials, etc. Out there. But you can still do a lot for cheap.

And it's not like they have as much of a risk with this attraction as opposed to Mach Tower... It is a clone that has an extra cart added to it. Mach Tower was a "first of its kind" for the designer with various gimmicks in it. Even if the park is scared it won't open due to whatever delay may occur... They can say "coming soon" for however long as they please.

Oh the frustration for a park that no longer cares....

Corporate is probably playing a big role in the announcement of this thing, including when. Considering, they announced Colossal Curl(not our CC, Tampa's copy-cat name, coming soon CC) over a month ago, and they still have not gone on with announcing this flat ride baffles me to no end. Something is wrong here....

^This gets into the heart of why budget cuts are literally the worst thing SEAS could be doing right now. In addition to marketing being required to bring in guests, but the other cuts are impacting the experience. What these parks are supposed to be selling is "fun". Shitty rides and long waits due to understaffing are not fun.

I think the corporate budget cuts are also playing into how much is going into promoting the ride.

As Evan said, social media is free but still effective as long as you have a decent PR manager and some basic material to post. Heck, if they don't have either of those two things, I'd be willing to provide them for free. Whatever the reason may be, continuing to deny the coaster's existence certainly isn't helping.

That is going to be the teensy tiny-est station ever!

Edit...Looking at the pictures on the main site really gives you an 'in your face' perspective of just how much this thing is all up in Apollo's business.

With most of the coaster probably going to be finished during the off season, any chance we can see hamlet theming updates focused on during the off season? I do remember somewhere that said along with this new ride will be other things changing in the hamlet.

Improved signage and landscaping is all it promised. Six Flags over Busch will continue to be its crappy self most likely, and this addition doesn't seem to be going to help that fact either.
