Boy you guys are tough. Let them have their fun with the name games and run through their marketing campaign and announce the ride before everyone condemns it. I've seen a lot about the ride and I think it's going to be something really special, but I'm afraid if what's built isn't a reincarnation of the BBW people won't be happy and will just hate it because the BBW was taken out. I loved the BBW, I took my daughter on her first ride when she was 3, it was special but it's gone now, let it go. Lets keep an open mind about what is coming and see what they do. Like I said I know a lot, but I'm eager to see how everything transpires through the summer.

I wasn't expecting any type of announcement from the park until the fall actually. Maybe late summer.

This is exactly my case. The Wolf was a big part of my past and about 50% of the reason why I love BGW. I'm well aware that I'm being very critical about Project 2012, but that's just who I am.

I think we're being so tough on the park because the last three additions or so that we've seen haven't been all that good (at all!). The park's track record since Griffon hasn't been very good (theme wise). I really do hope that they can turn it around.

Outside of us theme park lovers and admirers of BGW, I really don't think much of the GP was upset that BBW was removed. I think they're probably more upset that the land will sit with no replacement for two seasons. Sure, everyone that's been coming to Busch since a kid, especially those that rode the Wolf in the 80's miss it, but many of the casual parkgoers I knew were actually excited by the news of its removal and hopeful of what might replace it. I think Project 2012 will be met with good success, because:

1. It's a new roller coaster
2. It will be better than Griffon
3. It will most likely be the best BGW addition since DarKastle
4. There will finally be a ride to fill BBW's land vacancy
5. Thrill-seekers who never rode BBW as a kid are eager to ride Project 2012
6. It will be completely different than anything else BGW has to offer

If this new ride is half as good as I know BGW is capable of making it, this will be a step forward for the park after some of the leaps backward they've made in the past five years. The terrain for that ride will make it better than most rides of its kind, and it will reinforce to people that BGW can deliver thrills like KD. I think a lot of people had been resigned to the fact that BGW would never have a launching roller coaster. I know I had. Plus, for the first time since 2005, the park will add something that I can enjoy alongside kids and families. I will remain hopeful for this project. As time has gone on, I find myself looking forward to this more and more than I originally did.

I don't expect the official announcement until late summer, but I figure they have some sort of marketing campaign ready like they did with Cheetah Hunt, the little codes and hints dropped every so often.

^^Wow your positive! XD

I was joking.

My timeline...
- land clearing begins by 1st of June
- first footer poured by mid July
- first track pieces in late August
- Announcement last weekend of Sept.
- opening day, Memorial Day weekend 2012.

Havent they already started clearing land and hasnt someone already seen markers?

I saw markers and construction fencing up behind oktoberfest. Theres also a video of it on youtube. Not mine, but you can see the markers while riding on the train. Not sure if its for the coaster. But the assumption would be it is.

There's some land clearing for /something/ behind the valley that was used for the Wolf's village and there are plenty of markers all through the area.

It's technically a German word that is sometimes used in English. (Even though I have never heard it used in English either.)

It was one of my spelling words a few weeks ago. I mentioned BGW in the sentence I had to write using it. lol

Can you post the link?

Also, the BBW footers have been touched up. Where there were cracks and chunks out of some of them, they are not there anymore.

ooohh, in preparation for them to support the new coaster perhaps???

Yes, this is information that's pretty much known. The old station will also be used in the new ride.

It seems strange to think they would keep certain footers and then not use some. This ride was planned in detail before the removal of the Wolf. I'd think that whatever the park kept, and especially recapped and painted, would be used in some capacity. The oddest thing to me as that they are reusing the old Arrow station, which is not flat. I'm not sure what info was released about this, but it seems bizarre to keep it.

Well no one has said they are keeping the floor. That could be easily flattened out.
