I bet NASA would love to be able to do that.

NASA is not big on air used a propellant nor would NASA every use any form of rail system to guide a launch vehicle. The force exerted with the systems they use and have yet to be designed would do nothing but shred it apart.

See avatar. Just had to be smart aleck for a second ;)

The thing about comparing the cost of the attractions is you have to take into account the addition of the cheetahs at BGT. Did we ever hear the budget for Cheetah Hunt or the whole expansion in BGT?

Roughly $20 Million. Which is almost $5 million more than Griffon was.
I think one of the Tampa newspapers mentioned in upwards of $40 million. I can't see $20 million being enough for the scope of the project.

20 million for the coaster alone makes sense.... But everything else, such as the cheetah habitat expansion, lowering the skyride towers, the whole new "area"... Im sure that could make up for the difference.

I thought I had heard somewhere around 31 million. 20 million is the cost of a typical ride like Alpengeist and many other coasters by many different manufacturers, so that's probably the cost of Cheetah Hunt alone.

That site has been called out numerous times on their credibility. They have been known to fabricate stories and information to generate traffic.

According to my sources....you're all wrong. "Its gonna change the game in the park the way Darkastle did". It will cost about $51 million, and will be a hybrid of sorts....it will be announced in 2011 and should open in 2012...after the BGT project.
That is what I have been trying to say this entire time... FIRSTS!

Busch has a habit of taking a BGT ride and making it much taller and better

"Firsts" is a very vague term for this application. There are several "firsts" that could happen; mind blowing or not.

That's what I was saying earlier. Every coaster is advertised as having "firsts," and many firsts are unrecognizable or lame.

Theme parks go back and forth adapting the park with extream thrill rides and Family Friendly/kid rides/attractions ie Cedar point- maverick 2007, additions to camp snoopie, and other kid areas, then wind swinger 2011
or BGW- Griffon 2007, Sesame Street 2009, Mach tower 2011, new coaster 2012. Time for a thrill ride whereas the next addition might be a kid's area

"Firsts" could be:

Separate unloading/loading platforms
Ten cars per train
Nine cars per train
Three abreast
One abreast
etc.

(Firsts for BG parks)

Those are off the hip "firsts" that pop right into mind. So naturally it could be anything for a first.

Firsts could also be:
First Vertical (NASA style) launch
First Vertical turntable
First coaster over 300ft in a Busch park (or i can go crazy and say the first coaster over 500ft in the world)
Or (just joking here) the first coaster with a 100 degree drop

Not everything here represents what I think the new coaster will be like, I was just thinking of cool coaster "Firsts"
