Does post park depression ever hit you like a freight train? Completely fine one second and then aggressive sobbing the next?
I don’t have post park depression immediately, but I find after 2-3 weeks I gotta get a coaster and park fix. The husband hates it because in the dead of summer or winter I am craving a coaster ride or park experience and he just wants to chill. Needless to say, I convince him to go or have been known to go by myself

I know that it was rough saying goodbye to the friends I had made after my first major coaster trip. I was quite sad to say the least.

I don't get depression, more like an itch that needs scratching.

Of course, I also get that for other things like scuba diving.

I mean it makes sense, I think the reference some of u may be missing is the term "post-concert depression" which I hear frequently. I don't think anybody's saying they have major depressive disorder because they can't ride rides anymore, it's just an overall sense of disappointment when the euphoria and escapism of a park visit ends. sobbing may be a little much but u do u

edit: somebody else already explained my bad

Post concert depression never really made sense to me until I stopped going to 20-30 a year. Prior to the pandemic, it was just such a natural part of my life that there were instances when I saw Slash and Myles Kennedy twice in a week, TSO and The Misfits back to back days, Black Sabbath and Prophets of Rage back to back days, etc.

I do maybe 2-3 a year now if I’m lucky, between ticket prices skyrocketing and no longer living close to multiple stadiums, arenas, amphitheaters, and countless dive bars. Funny enough, my park trips becoming increasingly rare happened at the same time as concerts becoming a special occasion for me. Granted, prior to the pandemic it was 99% Great Adventure trips with the occasional trip to Hershey, Dorney, etc., but I find with both hobbies it makes me a lot more selective and planned out now that I don’t have such easy access.

All this is to say that I get it, but I choose to look on the bright side and look forward to my next trip, even if I don’t know when that will be.

I had my 1st trip with a actual group of people at KI and kentucky kingdom, met new people and hung out after the park and as soon as I got home im just like... fuck that was like a high that comes once every 10 years i guess.

Also im pretty sad after I leave carowinds only because I never feel like I got enough ride time on fury, even if I got 70 rides the last times I went in 2 days xd

That's about it though. I don't even feel like a desire right now to go back to CP just because the overwelming feel to get it all done and the price for a fastlane while still waiting 30+min. Maybe if I went on a mega dead day Id be sad to leave and get back but that seems to be the norm at CP and it's kinda exausting to deal with. Kinda like HHN, it's almost not even fucking worth it these days. It's exausting to even attempt to enjoy yourself with the lines/people and cost

This is what I get. I don’t necessarily get depressed, but I do get an intense craving for coasters. There’s something about them that feels so therapeutic. Whether I’m being pushed into my seat or thrown out of it, there’s something incredibly rejuvenating about the experience. After two or three weeks without riding a roller coaster, I start getting really antsy.

Post vacation depression is a whole other story. For me, it’s really the only time I get to see my friends, so it’s definitely tough leaving and either knowing it’ll be like 6 months before I see them again or not knowing when at all. My SFGAm trip was the first time I had seen one of my best friends, who I previously LIVED WITH, in a year and a half. Thankfully his wedding is coming up so I know for certain it won’t be that long again, but after that we’ll likely be waiting for coaster season.
