Kings Dominion updated their face book page on Friday. They confirmed that there will be eight new rides added for Planet Snoopy in 2013. They had a picture of the Snoopy Rocket Express elevated monorail ride along with the annoucement. My best guess for the remaining 7 new rides (based on the official annoucement video and park management comments) is as follows:

1. Snoopy's Rocket Express (elevated monorail).
2. Kiddie Train ride (set on the former site of Yogi's/Treasure cave).
3. Teacup ride.
4. New Kiddie Swings ride.
5. Lucy's tugboat (mini Disk-o style ride).
6. Balloon ride (not sure which style of ride).
7. Hang Glider style ride. (lay-down).
8. Kite Eating Tree (Possible Frog Hopper style of ride).

There is a small chance that KD could receive another new ride before it is all said and done. The reason I am stating this is that 2 of the 3 Cedar Fair parks that received a true Planet Snoopy expansion and renovation, (Cedar Point, Valley fair, and Dorney Park), made a surprise announcement a couple of months into construction that they were receiving an extra new ride (VF & Dorney). So keep your eye on the construction progress.

Course, an existing ride that is getting the most extensive overhaul, (at this point), is the kiddie bump cars. The old "boulder" rock work is gone and a new facade is to go up. I wonder if the park is getting new bump cars and a new updated operating system for it as well?

P.S. there are some pictures someone took on the "other" KD fan site face book page showing the clipper swinging ship, the old tree swing, and the old dipping dots truck in KD's boneyard / graveyard. Along with the old motion seats from the action theater. I am not sure if the ride graveyard is still in the far southeastern section of the old animal safari or if it is located somewhere else now.

I updated the first post with the "Snoopy's Rocket Express." I will add anything to the first post that is confirmed by the park.

I'm interested to see what Bolder Bumpers will be themed after because the name change doesn't show any type of theme. Just the regular jr. bumper cars. It's name will just be Bumper Cars.

Hopefully we will see the webcam be going up soon. They said it will go up once construction starts.

A small update. Kings Dominion Facebook page is featuring one of the new rides each day (Monday-Friday). The park started last Friday with "Snoopy's Rocket Express" (elevated monorail ride). So far the following rides have been announced:

Monday: "Linus Launcher" (lay-down flying ride)
Tuesday: "Woodstock's Whirlybirds" (mini teacup ride)

I assume Kings Dominion will keep revealing one new ride each weekday on their Facebook page. If that is the case, then the 8th and last new ride should be announced next Tuesday. My hope is that, once all the new rides are announced, the park will have updated the Planet Snoopy website by the end of next week and the construction webcam will be up and running.

Stay tuned.

The first post has been updated with Kings Dominion's recent announcement.

Kings Dominion is also looking for a KidCaster to report on Planet Snoopy's construction. Applicants must be from the ages of 6 to 10 and must have parents agreement and be able to go to the park at least once a month.

A quick update. Kings Dominion has officially released the names for all the new Planet Snoopy rides. Also, the bump cars is getting a Planet Snoopy name as well. An excerpt from the KD web site announcement is below.

Also, on the "other" Kings Dominion fan site facebook page, is a series for 59 pictures of the current state of the former Kidzville area. A few of those pictures show "before and after" of certain sites within the old kids section.

Pretty sure Charlie Brown's Wind Up will be a Zamperla kiddie swing ride like the one at Dorney Park's Planet Snoopy and numerous other CF parks.

Welcome "Kazmo 1." I'm inclined to agree, I Googled that ride from the other parks and it does appear to be a kiddie wave swinger, which isn't that much of a stretch since they used to have a kiddie swing ride.

I have to say, I really do like those logos. Hopefully each ride will get its own signage to match.

Almost forgot! Kings Dominion announced the first ever KidCaster. A 7 year old named Chase was selected from over 150 applicants. One lucky little fellow I have to say.

Here is the link to the Facebook post.

That camera is not very good quality, unless it's because it is getting dark. They need to have cameras like B.G. that are live.
