I was thinking the same thing. I bet you if this concept isn't a total failure there's going to be a "skiing" coaster at another SEAS park by the end of the decade.Given the way SEAS has been lately my mind when immediately to "How can this be rethemed to put in one of the 2 Busch Gardens parks?" I hope its not "now ride on the back of a dragon at Busch Gardens Williamsburg"
As for the seating/standing position, I can only assume the board member who probably conceived and approved the whole thing in a vacuum has never been surfing or visited a beach and thinks a surf board is a self-propelled vehicle ridden like a Segway without handles. Next up, they'll probably unveil a skateboard coaster using the same configuration for SeaWorld San Diego, because "everyone in California rides around on skateboards."
