What price points should we be looking at for pins and lanyards?
Based on what I remember prices being at SeaWorld and Sesame they were between $8 and $10 for a pin. With a slightly higher price for the limited edition pins. Lanyards were about $15 dollars and I remember they had some starter sets with a lanyard and 4 pins for $25. My guess would be that the pricing will be similar but I'm not sure

From personal experience.

Pins will be around $6 - $15. Most of them being around $6 - $10.
All Sea World/BG/Sesame pins are tradeable so if you have a legacy pin that you wanna part with, you'll be able to trade it out. The parks have been selling pins for quite some time now. This is just a re-expansion on that.

I don't know if pins from other parks are acceptable. Sea World accepts trading Disney and Universal pins at select locations so chances are BGW might be able to accept KD and SF pins as traders.

If they are smart they start them off cheap to get interest and to sell alot of pins. Then ramp up prices for HOS and CT. Price point on opening day will decide if I jump in on this or not. Im not into the trading though, I will just buy the ones I want. Hopfully they have limits as well. I can see LE being sold out then resold online.

The pins have been the same prices for years. I don't see them jacking up prices like Disney has been doing lately. Especially in an area that doesn't really see a lot of pin trading anyway

Never understood the Mouse pin trading thing, but I do understand collectables.

Though I personally wouldn't buy any, I'm all in favor as these things must have like a 1000% profit margin and increase brand loyalty. That improves the overall health of the business, and perhaps helps with pricing of things I do consume--like food and tickets.

So... buy and trade away!

on the newsletter they sent out, it says they're going to be selling a specific "pin trader" lanyard to let others know that you're participating in the event. do we really have to get those to let others know we want to swap?? i really like my current lanyard and don't see the point in buying another one :/

Again, I don't really understand the pin trading thing...but to your point about lanyards, wouldn't simply having "a" lanyard with pins indicate you're there to trade? Thus no need for a special pin trading lanyard? I mean, if you just like collecting them, why would you bring your collection to the park unless you're there to trade? (Maybe you really want to show them off?). I would keep them at home, safe.

But again, the lanyard is likely high margin too, so buy and trade away!

I assume the official pin trading lanyard is a way to symbolize to other park guests that you're willing to trade with them. It's honestly a neat solution in my opinion. I'd never dream of asking to trade with another Disney guest because I know many, many, many of them are just wearing pins they like, not ones that they're looking to trade away. An official pin trading lanyard makes it way more socially acceptable to try to initiate a trade with other guests.

Leap frogged posts, but yeah, that makes sense. And definitely at the Mouse. Pins, costumes, etc. all sorts of things just getting into the spirit of the place, unlike anything I've seen elsewhere... so a sign you're there to trade makes sense. And I guess if the Mouse is the model SEAS is somewhat emulating...

BIG news! This is so sick!!

I only just got to start collecting BG pins in like the previous 5 years, and I've got some sick ones. I did pick up InvadR and Loch Ness 40th recently, so I can share a pic when I get home at some point, and was stoked beyond belief when we found Big Bad Wolf (retired? I think) pins a couple years back. Can't believe they were still around unless they were newer.

Any ideas how these are handled on coasters at the other Seas Parks? Is this going to be another hit and miss depending on the person whether its allowed thing?

I wonder if wearing all of those metal pins on a lanyard will set off the new metal detectors? Just sayin.
