Many food trucks are owner operators so much of that staff is likely family or friends. Additionally finding an employee or two is fare easier than hundreds.
In Orlando, WDW and to a lesser extent Uni offer significantly higher pay than other entry level jobs in the area. They have staffing issues sometimes but it would be a misnomer to call them pervasive.

That’s not really what I was trying to point out. More that food trucks can easily staff due to small nature of the business and the owner/operator style setup.

Right, I was suggesting that if you need to hire so many people, you will probably need to sweeten the deal to get the droves of applications you need. Fact is, SEAS would rather overcharge to bring down the attendance and increase per capita spending while under cutting staff budget and making due with skeleton crews.

Staffing is it's own discussion, but tbh I can't remember this stand being open much even when AB owned the park so...

I don’t disagree with this. I disagree with the part I quoted in the first part of funny how good trucks can find employees and the park can’t. A good truck is often owner-operator and their ability to be staffed has nothing to do with BGWs inability to staff.

It was almost always open in the summers before the InBev sale. It was one of the cheapest places to eat in the park so I used to grab food there a lot when I was at the park with friends growing up.

It was my family's go to lunch spot growing up. Grab some corn dogs and cheese sauce, then wait for the train. We noticed that as the years went on, it was closed more and more.

Exactly my point, family has a vested interest in making the food trucks a success…..if BGW treated team
members as family the family would look out for the park. As far as the food truck I ate at the other night none of the people working were family of the owners.

Yep, back in the day it was one of the spots I ate at often and you rarely saw it closed. It’s in a high traffic area and makes no sense to have it closed.

Speaking of someone that comes from a family owned and operated food related business….I hated working for it more than caring about it being a success. I was given no option but to work, my ”pay” wasn’t a paycheck rather my money for school lunches (I did the math, I was paid $2.50/hr), and I was treated like crap compared to the 3 non-family members that worked for us.

BGW needs competitive pay, a system that offers promotions and career advancement, and to actually give people hours/time off they request. Even if that’s the only changes that happened BGW would see the good come out of it.

Can this really be marked as Defunct if it keeps popping up every couple of months to remind us of its existence? In any case, just glad they have enough staff that they could open this up! Now they just need to do La Cucina…
