I'll admit, I'm very intrigued by these rumors. With Phoenix out, the potential removal of Sand Serpent would open up a sizable plot of land. If you go a little further and bulldoze the kiddie rides back in the corner next to Painted Camel, you can gather up even more contiguous park area.

Every few days I've been poking around looking for any records of public records involving this project but I haven't seen anything yet. Hopefully we learn more soon.

There are markers all along the back service road, including by the kiddie rides, so I do think they will be removed or relocated as well.

What I'd like: That land to be used as an entrance, station, and transfer track for a hyper/giga that goes over/around the Serengeti
What it'll be: Probably another Sky Rocket II

why would it be another Sky Rocket II? they already have Tigris

Note - I have no tangible evidence, however I have heard from more than one individual that Sand Serpent has around one month of operation remaining.
I have heard the same. The two timelines I've heard discussed are "sometime in April" and "sometime in August", but the April one is what I've heard a bit more of, if that makes sense. The August has mostly been banter between employees in other areas.

they would have made an announcement at this point.
I've heard they don't wish to make a big deal out of it- and we might see an announcement about a week before the closure? Idk for sure though.

Not exactly 1 month, it has a bit longer but yes, from what I've heard it's not going to last till 2024
Is August what you've heard? If so, see above.

No, I heard may, but it’s likely not accurate

I don't get it :p
It basically expresses my low expectations of SEAS (post March 2020). I do not think they would actually build a second, identical, already cloned coaster, but that's how little I think of them now. That also lets me be surprised when they do something actually exciting.

What are the odds that they use the old Akbar’s Adventure Tours Building, Phoenix’s plot, and [or] Sand Serpent’s plot to build Florida’s third partially indoor straddle coaster?
Do you mean the 4D theater next to Sand Serpent?

When did that happen? I don’t think I’ve ever seen this ride running in the 3 times I’ve been to BGT since 2018.
The ride was last operational just after Christmas. Open one day, closed the next and never reopened. No big loss - that whole area needs a massive rethink anyway.

Also, I've heard some quiet mumbling that Serpent, Busch Fliers, Desert Runners, and Hippos of the Nile in Sesame Street Safari of Fun may all end up going to the Virginia park.
I wonder where each of these would actually fit in BGW, especially Sand Serpent. also what kinda ride is Hippos of the Nile? I never rly went to Safari of Fun and I keep thinking it's like Forest of Fun's Ernie & Bert boat ride (I forgot the actual name lol)

Hippos of the Nile is almost like Bert & Ernie's Loch Adventure except that it has a tiny lift and drop in the middle of the ride. Bert & Ernie's Loch Adventure is completely flat.

Bert & Ernie had a little lift and drop during its previous life in Land of the Dragons, as I recall. Exact same ride system pre-modification?

Sand Serpent returning to Williamsburg would be quite the story arc. I always enjoyed it as Wild Izzy/Maus, though I didn't care too much for its location in Oktoberfest. Felt more like a Festa ride to me.
