Just out of curiosity, what was the DJ like? What kinds of things did they play?

The same pop songs you hear on the radio plus your regular dance songs, cha cha slide, electric slide, etc. Or at least I imagine that is what it was like. Every time I've been there and they've had a DJ, it is basically just that. Except for when Entertainment decided to have one of their own in house DJs.

O, for the record, no one I know had their pass checked. I heard they checked passes as people got off Verbolten for a few minutes and they were checking them at the two entrances to the hamlet, but everyone who was inside seemed to be home free.
Yes. I was expecting something like Jon Favreau's Happy Hogan character in Iron Man 3; constantly checking passes. But no. I wasn't hassled once. I imagine that if you were already inside the hamlet and stayed off of the E-ticket attractions for a bit, you would probably be left alone if you weren't a pass holder. Not that I condone trying to stick it to the man or anything. :p

Watch chickenking's video a few posts up it sort of shows the atmosphere.
It was like any school-sponsored party you have ever attended. Nothing special.
I wanna see some Pantera and a GIANT mosh pit at the next event.

Anyone notice any pass checking? I did not see any and myself and a few others were not checked.
EDIT: Also I saw they gave out Pass Member Pins if you were sitting in front or back rows on Apollo's but they did not do it for long. From what I saw it was only one train. If anyone got one I was wondering what they looked like.

A friend of mine got one. It was the Busch Gardens season pass member's exclusive pin. It is just the words Busch Gardens with all the country flag colors on it. It is a nice pin and you can find them at the Emporium, the cart outside the Globe Theater, and I think Marketplatz and the Verbolten gift store.

Eh~ I am not sure... I would guess anywhere from $6.95 to $8.95... but there was a special deal at the Emporium only where if you bought so much at the gift shop, you received the pin for free.

Here was the quip on the pass member email:

Pass Exclusive Pin
Get this Pass Member exclusive pin with a purchase of $15 or more only at the Emporium.

But it does not say how long the offer lasts or how much the pin is. All I recall is that since it was a pass member exclusive- no discount applied on the pin. I bought mine before this deal came into play.

We were lucky and got two of these pins for free last Friday. At 8:30 pm on Apollo's Chariot, they gave people sitting in the front and back rows of the train coming into the station this pin. The rest of our family sitting in the next to last row, did not get anything.

The whole pin distribution seemed a little unfair. Everyone there (which was a low turnout anyway) are the die-hard season pass members. They could have just handed the basket out until they ran out and made it fair for everyone. But nope... I was denied my pin after a very odd announcement on Verbolten the first ride night saying that they are handing out "Verbolten pins" and to make sure we got ours as we left the ride.

I found out later that it was only for those riders exiting right after that announcement. You see, when I was told that "I already had enough pins as the person pointed to my lanyard and I would have to be at the right place at the right time for the next ride night." I also mentioned that I was waving to them when they were handing out pins and the person said "Yeah- I saw you." and looked away from me.. dismissively.

I was hurt and upset. Of course I found out later I already had the pin they were handing out, but the announcer said "Verbolten pin" and I thought it had some sort of special "Verbolten" media pin that was unique.

Either way, they had a whole basket of pins and yet refused to even let me see what the pin was.

I didn't want to say anything about it here, but this has still bothered me since that day. I'm hoping that if anyone from the park reads this, that it is taken into consideration on the next ride night and it does not occur again. Make the "free" handout a little more fair for everyone.

I felt awkward and shocked that my inquiry was handled in such a way that made me feel stupid for even asking.

After they handed out pins at Apollo, they were walking out where I was sitting with friends. The person made eye contact with me and looked away quickly. I mean really?

I did mention that I felt I was shat on, if that is what you were speaking of. That I felt like I just got a big pile of shat dumped right on me after the whole encounter.

But no, not me doing that. I was the one being hurt in the situation.

But hey, Shat Happens right?

^THIS!

Having witnessed the wrath that Nora was about to unleash upon the Verbolten crew, that only a battle on the newly named Der Mario Kart could vanquish, NONE OF US ARE TRULY OBSESSED WITH BUSCH GARDENS...Nora is the Princess of the Park...But not a frilly princess, more like Mulan! Princess? Yes. Kick your ass? Yes.

Which pin did it end up being?

Shane: I am still not sure as the basket was held from me in a way to keep me from seeing what was inside. The second ride night was the Busch Gardens pin I posted.

Thanks Cotnoutlaw. I like being compared to Mulan. I did dress as Pocahntas one year, so I really appreciate the non-frilly kick-butt aspect.

That Bumper Car fight was fierce and ranks up in the top 10 ride moments of my park history! Never has such epic battle tactics graced the Autobahn's boundaries. The tale of our battle shall be told as legend in years to come.
