I respect your opinion. This topic will be very contested, with lots of debates in the coaster community, which adds excitement now! I do think A1 will be much different than El Toro. This has many upside-down elements, and the park does not have this coaster type yet. It would be a solid, full-circuit thrill coaster and would be different from others like Jersey Devil, Nitro, or El Toro. It would be a fantastic fit for this park, in my opinion. The park needs another full-circuit thrill coaster and has not seen one since Jersey Devil, which will be 7 years ago when this opens. Even with Ka back in 2024, the park was hurting from a lack of substantial, high-quality additions. Air Force 1 would be the first original, non-shuttle, normal two-track thrill coaster since El Toro from 2006. The park is in one of the best locations in the country, between Philly and NYC, and needs to continue investing after so many removals.

One more thing - when I was working with Six Flags on their merger, they do pay a lot more attention to these threads than people might think….
How Six Flags has announced the Aquisition of AF1 and the messaging around it, seems to speak more to this community than how almost every other “new” attraction is messaged (normally to the GP).
I truthfully don’t think they’ve decided exactly where it’s going, but this is such a unique situation with one of the worlds best coasters… and I think my earlier points to Carowinds elevates it more.

My thought is the merger will be why Carowinds most likely doesn't get AF1. Pre merger if CF bought the ride, I would put Carowinds at the top of the destination list, but with merged SF basically a local monopoly now in that part of the Southeast, it feels like high thrill attractions will be less frequent.
I don’t see it like that - Carowinds is a park that SF knows is bound for foot traffic. You’ve got more people with families moving to Charlotte than almost any other area where they own a park.
That, plus a destination close to one of the largest international airports, is why I think it’s more likely than not, Carowinds is a top choice.
Carowinds should be a 3M+ attendance park a year, if not more. It’s far easier for SF as a business to get more attendance here than at some of their other parks that are saturated.
i find it interesting what moved the needle for carowinds to hit the 3 million attendance. fury 325 did but that was the only ride to push that ride over the edge of 3 million not copperhead strike the last thrill coaster the park got nor any of the family expansions.
I mean Fury opened in what 2015, Copperhead in 2019?
The Charlotte metro area is so different from 2015 to 2019 than it is today.
I’ve got to believe that part of why SF originally wanted to set up HQ here was part of it.
I don't see how AF1 moves the needle in a way that isn't just cannibalizing from SF's own sales elsewhere, especially SFOG. There just aren't customers out there who are going to all of sudden buy Carowinds tickets because AF1 shows up that werent already going there.
GAdv has a far stronger case to make for growth from ride investment, pulling HP customers and NY/Philly their way. KI can also make a decent financial case too for AF1, though I dont think it's as strong as GAdv.
Why do you think they still dont know what they want? Major coaster wise, not too many options that could fit in the lineup besides wing, dive or tilt...?
If they can’t increase the capacity of AF1 and they want Caro to hit 3M+ people they deems like a problem.
Couple of concerns with Great Adventure is that it’s 100% not going to go in the parking lot because sticking the entrance in Shoreline Pier would look like shit and the coaster as a whole does not fit the theme unless Great Adventure is building a whole new themed area. I don’t see it going there. Most of the Great Adventure suggestions have put the coaster where it makes no logistical sense. I just feel they would have never promised to keep the name Arie Force 1 if it was going to Great Adventure! Additionally, Great Adventurer has added 3 thrill coasters in a row, so you all are way overdue for a family coaster, not another massive thrill ride. Wasn’t whatever that purple coaster is called only phase 2? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought there was a phase 3, which in theory should be a family coaster.

wasnt tormenta at sfot rumored to be carowinds coaster till the merger happened. that kinda messed up there coaster clock for the expansion wise
Collin showed us different ways. The entrance would actually fit quite well just off the path of shoreline pier. It would fit quite nicely and the colors are perfect for the area. Compared to other parks, no removal of any rides, maintenance buildings, many trees etc necessary major plus. But it does take much space in parking lot, they will have to adjust with that. The theme can be a naval base theme (used to have that in boardwalk section) and can tie with Jersey history like the old boardwalk used to. It can be a good tribute to parks history as well. It’s not the best but won’t really be that bad theming wise for shoreline pier.
Rather see great adv use that money on revamping golden kingdom or adding shade to shoreline or decorating it more to not feel like a pier in the middle of a parking lot. The boardwalk is cool at night but in the day it looks terrible. 
Arie (as stated so many times before) would give Shoreline Pier an amazing backdrop, they have all the vacant land from Lantern's former plot, and could rip out the asphalt parking lot slot next to Bakunawa. I hear people keep saying that for such an emphasis on Great Adventure being a core property with expected high attendance, that taking away MORE of their parking lot is dumb, but they have more plots of land like the old vacant gas station to fill, or even expand closer to the Route 537.
As we almost all nearly know, it's either KI, Carowinds or Great Adventure.
I do think Carowinds probably needs it the most, while KI would be most optimal, but do not wave Great Adventure out of the list. Real genuine possibility that isn't rooted in delusion.

If gadv does get arie they should use that parking lot space space between bakunawa and arie and make a man made lake or something /j
Ngl, something about Beach Vibes and military bases doesn’t seem to mix too well…… I mean, I see what you’re trying to say, but it just seems a bit too much. I just don’t think Shoreline Pier is the right spot at the end of the day.
I can get sea creatures and beaches, but military bases and beaches don’t seem like the best combo might be a bit too much for some families.

yeah it’s not the best. Would there be a better park thematically this would fit better? It’s unfortunate they have to keep the name. I don’t think the decision should be made only on the theme though. Hopefully they can negotiate to have a tribute to the history of the ride but still change the name. The naval base theme if tied to local NJ history with a nautical feel could still work for shoreline pier. Not great but if done right not terrible.
