Have been so busy chasing Entertainment questions, I almost neglected something near and dear here. Though the pork shanks are back, the last two days at the park I have seen them with only ONE piece of bacon wrapped around them. Same with turkey legs. It is supposed to be seven; or at least completely covered as shown in the menu pic and my own images I have taken. It is pathetic. When I asked about them at the stand, they really didn't have any answers and directed me towards supervisors at the Grille. A supervisor told me the typical "Yes that shouldn't have happened, etc." spiel, and something about not being around when the shanks and legs were being cooked; apparently the bacon just falls off when they are done and nobody puts it back on. OK. SO why are you still selling them for the up-charge with bacon? One sad little piece does not warrant a 2-3 dollar increase. Fix the price and/or fix the sloppy prep. It is a ripoff. I feel sorry for the folks who bought one, not knowing that these things should be drowning in the glory of bacon. So sad.

Yes. They only had 5 of them when I went by and none of them had bacon. They removed the picture from the menu but I forgot to get a picture cause I was so infuriated. They did have bacon wrapped turkey legs but it only had two or three pieces on it. They tried to criss-cross them to make it look like it was covering it up. Very pathetic. I am done talking about pork shanks. Tired of getting my heart broken.

EDIT:

I'll bet I could start crawling up the chain of whoever is in charge of food & drink at the park and get some answers. It worked for Entertainment, but I am weary. I would like to TRY and ENJOY myself at the park a little bit. Plus, don't wanna get in a position where some start saying, "Here comes that big guy again. What's he complaining about now?" I'd like for folks to be happy to see me. Darn!! Those things were good. Maybe this is a punishment for CK cause of what happened in Italy.

I talked to one of the team members at the cart and he said something along the lines of they had them the other day but 5 went missing, and something about having them for Howl-o-Scream.

With that said, I assume that they may bring them back for Howl-o-Scream, but not positive.

Bad News about the pork shanks. I talked to the team member who was there and he said he doubts they are a permanent addition and he believes they will get rid them again. So get them while you can!

**NEWS FLASH**

Two different Team Members at the Gelato stand refused to mix multiple flavors in one cup like they have ALL year since this thing opened. When asked for the reason why, the response was "As of yesterday (Saturday) they can no longer mix flavors because a guest apparently had an allergic reaction to some chocolate gelato." I get it. I understand. Wow! I am awaiting official confirmation about this. I know that there are a LOT of folks here that like this stuff and love to get two or more flavors. I guess you can only be so careful. Can't have folks going to the hospital over a dessert. :(

Don't believe it? Try it for yourself. Let us know if there has been a change.

I work in Retail Food Service Management. If a guest requested mixed flavors and had An allergic reaction to such requested combination seems like that would be the responsibility of the guest. Unless the dippers were cross contaminated by using the same dipper in more than one flavor then that would be on the park. Just my thoughts.

Even though each flavor looks like it has its own scoop, them being in such close proximity, a small amount of chocolate somehow ended up in a guest's cup. As it was told to us, the guest DID NOT request any chocolate; it was a known allergy. It was an accident. And the change in service is a precautionary measure.

Hope that helps to clear things up.

I've been to a grocery store before where they had this problem. They fixed the problem by putting each different gelato on a turn-table. That way they don't have to reach over another tub, risking cross-contamination. I think the park needs to do anything they can to help this. It really detracts from the overall value of the gelato if they only allow one flavor.

I think the issue can be resolved with the following:

- Use different scoops for each flavor: DONE
- Set up a small wall/barrier between each flavor:
- Use a different pair of gloves for each flavor, I believe this was the issue, a small amount of chocolate go on the gloves and dropped off in the cup.

Other than that, I can't think of any other way they could do it?

But I will say the fact that they could go almost an entire season without encountering this problem is rather impressive.
