I like how the Pompeii stand serves Lava Flow, it really does keep to the theme of the area. But frozen cocktails right next to Sesame Street, really?

Personally, I would think selling beverages like this next to Sesame Street makes sense. If I were a parent and had to listen to the glorious music played there, no trees or much shade to relax under, and tons of screaming kids.. a cold alcoholic beverage would certainly assist my zen state to handle it.

Besides, the stand is close to Pompeii and in a very hot section of the park with no shade. I think it is well placed, but certainly needs some work to make it look more permanent and well themed. The current paint job does not look like the quality work when it had mosaic tiles for the Greece booth from the F&W festival.

Just to note; it is against the law and/or park rules to bring alcohol into Land of the Dragons or Sesame Street.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but the booth still looks awful. If it's going to be a year-round structure now, the park needs to put a bit of money into it.

My only problem with this stand is the front is extremely bland. Please give the stand a name a post it there! It needs something to fill up all the space. Also, why are they theming it to a pre-Pompeii look? Pompeii is about destruction of that type of architecture, they should give it a disjointed look, much like the Pompeii gift shop.

They need to change the current look and theme to a more appropriate Pompeii theme, and then post a sign on the front! For example, cheap, easy, simple: Pompeii Snacks; two words, explaining what is there a snack stand themed to Pompeii. Simple as that but no they want to go all out with it, or not?

Found out something useful about dining certificates yesterday. If you want to use it for a dish that includes baby back ribs, it says there is an additional charge. Well, because we HAD to get the German Sampler at the Festhaus, the additional charge is $2.00. Not too bad. Was told that the charge is the same for any plate with baby back ribs purchased with a dining certificate.

Addendum to above statement...

It is correct about the $2.00 charge for baby back ribs. However, I put this to the test today by getting the most expensive thing on the menu at the Smokehouse...The House Specialty of Baby Back Ribs @ $16.49. OK, turns out that it is $2.00 per RACK of baby back ribs. For this dish, there are two racks; additional charge is $4.00. Dining certificates still work out as a savings though.

The "Talking Tree" stand in Ireland is apparently doing really well. This stand continues to be open much much more than in its previous form. It is also outselling ye ole' hot dogs and sausages by leaps and bounds. The bacon-wrapped pork shank is the leading seller, followed closely by bacon-wrapped turkey legs & regular pork shanks. I think it is my current favorite place to grab some grub in the park. I absolutely  LOVE  picking one of these items up and walking over to the Pub to sit, eat and relax. Good times!!

Check these out:

Let me just add, I have been asking for a bacon wrapped pork shank every day all week and have been told every day all week they don't have any. This tells me they didn't expect them to do so well.

In Germany (real Germany) we have an entree very similar to this called Schweinshaxe. I have cousins from Germany visiting now, and I think they need to try this. I'm sure they'll laugh when they hear that they have it wrapped in bacon also!

Holy cow! No prices listed!! Gotta go back now.

This menu is new at the Der Marktplatz in OktoberFest:

The park has decided to take the AMC Theater movie route and offer combos!!

I was told there are two mistakes on this sign:
1 - Combo #1 shows two Churros; It only comes with one.
2 - The Frosted Beverage drink prices are backwards. Switch $3.89 with $3.49 for Small & Large respectively.

Once again, who is in charge of checking this stuff BEFORE printing. They seriously need to be find another job where overlooking details is not very important.

Also, the Talking Tree stand is out of Pork Shanks and they ARE NOT getting more (with or without bacon). I don't understand why you would not restock your #1 top seller. SMH.

They don't understand our love of Pork Shanks CK!

Also on a side note, the combo deals can be found elsewhere around the park, I know at the stand in Ireland with popcorn, they have a combo for a soda and popcorn.

Barq's Root Beer came with the Coke switch, but yes CK I had been meaning to tell you that pork shanks are back. I talked with the team member who said from what she understood they weren't supposed to be selling them anymore but they just started to sell them again.

I gladly would take a pork shank over a turkey leg any day. I actually found this out today CK, so I guess I was just late posting :p
