RE: Park Menus & Prices - 2013

Thank you for the additional menus. Now if someone visiting Kings Dominion could do the same thing, that would be awesome.

RE: Park Menus & Prices - 2013

Next time I go to the park without a GP-type friend (which has yet to happen), I will try and get them all. Hopefully that will happen over the summer.

RE: Park Menus & Prices - 2013

Would posting a pic of each item be allowed for this thread, or would it fall under another one?

RE: Park Menus & Prices - 2013

No no...I don't mean reviewing each one....Just a pic of each item whenever any of us come across one. It'd be like a visual menu of sorts so you can see what you get.

RE: Park Menus & Prices - 2013

Does anyone know if you can get a pass discount on the dining certificates? Also do they include the sample platters.

RE: Park Menus & Prices - 2013

^^ Absolutely you can. Just do the math. It's 10% off across the board. Either bought online or individual items at the park. 10%. Pretty simple. :)

One caveat about the dining certificates....They do NOT, repeat, NOT include the samplers that have babyback ribs in them. You can still get 10% off if you buy them at the park WITHOUT the certificates, but the certificates themselves do NOT include platters that come w/babyback ribs. You still have to pay extra for those. Caveat Emptor.

RE: Park Menus & Prices - 2013

How much do these certificates actually save you? I admit to being lazy today and don't feel like doing the math. Doesn't look like anything for the kids meals.

RE: Park Menus & Prices - 2013

depends on what you get honestly. We would get the one that includes entree, two sides, and a drink and split a sampler, dessert, a side, and a drink and save $5-6.

RE: Park Menus & Prices - 2013

The Platinum dining certificate actually saves you a ton, especially if you plan on eating a full meal at the park.

For example: (Quoted from their website)
This dining certificate is redeemable at any Busch Gardens® Williamsburg restaurant for an entrée and a regular sized non-alcoholic beverage and two of the following: side salad, side dish or dessert.

The retail on this for non-pass members is $15.29. The cost for all this if bought separately (even with a pass) would be well over $20. Then, when you use your pass number to buy the certificate online, you save another 10%, so....my math is fuzzy here, but that'd be less than $14 per certificate. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

OK, so if you really want to stick it to the man, where & what is the most expensive entree' meal you can get and still be covered by this certificate? :)

Most expensive entree I could find that was covered by the voucher is the Smokehouse Sampler at $14.39, that is if the ribs are not baby back. If they are, the next most expensive one covered is Mama Stella's Sampler at $12.29, then you can add in the regular drink which is $2.00 at most. Finally, you have a side or desert which is about $2.00 at most as well. Now you can do the math :p

It looks like the Mama's Sampler platter in Italy is the best deal overall. It costs 12.29 by itself & doesn't have any babyback ribs on it. Plus two sides & a drink. Pretty good, I'd say. :)

Personally I'd just go for one of the roasted chicken platters at Trappers or Festhaus....or the brisket at Trappers also. All are eligible.

Anyone know if beer purchases are eligible for the pass member discount? I can't remember if I ever tried it....

So that is $12.29 plus $6.00 in sides and a drink. For a grand total of $18.29 without tax, and the voucher is $13 something with pass discount, seems pretty decent. I'm sure I could get it for a steal then :p

Actually, sides are about $4.00 each so $10.00 plus $12.29 makes for about $22.29 as the most expensive.

The cheapest I found was Vegetarian Combo at Grogan's Grill at $6.99, with the $10.00 makes it $16.99 at cheapest approximately.

I would like to say, it is $4.00 at most for a side, and $2.00 at most for a drink. WIth the possible 2 sides at most makes the $10.00 right there.

So to answer CK, you can save over $9.00 or save as little as over $3.00 depending on your discount, selection of food, etc.

I don't think you can get the extra 10% off with the dining certificates...at least I don't see how to do so on the website. They do offer 10% off on Celtic Dyne, Elmo Dine and a Memorial Day picnic. I know in the past they offered 10% off the all day dining certificate but I don't see that now.

The cost of a platinum certificate, with tax, is $16.67. The real value for me is getting the Smokehouse Sampler, a dessert and a side and splitting the whole thing with my adult daughter. It fills us both. It even works on the $5 huge eyeball cupcakes at Halloween.

I'd love to be shown how to get the extra 10% off if I am just being dense.
