As a point of interest, B&M did not build the launch for Hulk, also it was wheel launch not LIM, but I guess I did not specify that.

B&M is often slow to adopt new tech that they themselves did not create.  Launch is a good example.

It may appear that way to the enthusiast community but in reality they are not slow at all.

What many people don't realize is that B&M is a very small company that employs about 30 people in a tiny office building in a rural Southwestern region of Switzerland.  They are not a major company with a huge ride portfolio so doing more than a couple of coasters every year keeps them very busy.  They have a limited product catalog with a high demand so they haven't had the need to rush into using any new technology (like launches) because the coasters they offer in their portfolio is more than enough to keep them occupied.

Intamin, on the other hand, is a major corporation with seven locations worldwide in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Korea, China, Japan, Germany and the USA and they also have their own production and fabrication facility in Slovakia.  They have more manpower and resources to push the envelope when it comes to new ride technologies so that's why they have several coasters with different propulsion systems.

I just thought I'd give my opinion on the restraints of I305. Its been a while since I've been on the forums so when I came on here I forgot to go to the last page and was reading about the restraints and that was posted in 2011. I then realized that its... not... 2011 but I still felt inclined to post about them. I thought the old restraints were actually better than the newer softer ones. I remember not even thinking about the restraints while riding. But nowadays, I often opt out of riding it because of the restraints. I cannot stand the pressure it gives on the thighs... and Im only 13! I can't imagine for bigger people what it feels like.

I personally disagree about the whole pressure thing as I'm 5'9" and it doesn't really hurt my thighs that much, it's noticeable but doesn't kill the ride. What really grinds my gears is the OTSR. I hate with a passion my neck being slammed into the padding on almost every turn. Now I understand it's due to the transitions as going 70 mph through a transition that pushes your body into the opposite direction probably wouldn't feel too good without something holding your upper body in place. Then again I know practically nothing about roller coaster engineering so I can't really be one to talk. On a side note, has anybody heard anything about the possible re-theme and re-name?

I am fat, 5'11", barrel chested, and thick in the thigh. I do not fit in just about ANY B&M OSTR or really any modern OSTR for that matter, however I generally do fit into these and find them very comfortable.

That said, I have to agree with Nicole, there are a multitude of factors that impact fit, height is just one of them.

Waist size and junk in the trunk are way bigger factors than I ever expected. I lost a bit of weight in said areas and magically B&Ms became fun again. Agreeing with Zim and Nicole, there is no single pressure point when it comes to balancing comfort against restraining systems.

Unfortunately, I'm too tall to ride this comfortably. Naturally, knowing the layout helps very much. However, every time I ride, there are about two elements that make it feel like someone is rapidly Karate chopping my lower neck.

In response to Zimmy, I completely understand your sentiments about B&M harnesses. If I was maybe two inches shorter, the head banging would get my entire head. Instead, for me, it balances the forces between my head and neck, to the point where I can more easily avoid any issues.

There is a German phrase that goes "Jede Tierchen sein Plaäsirchen." [Yay•der tier(here)•chen sein(mine) plus•ear•chen].
That means "Every creature has their own pleasures."

So here's a question. If I grey out on Verbolten, will I black out on i305? Guess I'll find out next year.

It varies from person to person, but whereas my vision gets a little fuzzy inside Verbolten, I completely lose my vision for several seconds on Intimidator 305. But that's just me.

I have moderate to intense gray outs on the helix on Verbolten. I always loose my vision on i305, I have completely blacked out twice, where I get almost through the turn and then I wake up later in the ride not even remembering going over the hump. If I don't black out, I just lose vision for a split second or so right before we go over the hump.

I used to see stars coming out of the first turn. Then I realized that the g forces in the turn prevented me from inhaling. A deep breath filling my lungs during the drop keeps me coherent for enjoying the extended airtime on the first hump. Give it a try.

It's funny you mention inhaling on the drop because I usually do the opposite. Griffon I would exhale on the drop instead. I'll have to hold my breath and see if that makes things better. That and the hydration thing. We realize half way through the day sometimes we forgot to eat or drink anything because we are just moving through the park. Unless it's hot out, I forget to stay hydrated. Should be interesting.. now for spring to just get here.
