No paint until probably next off season at the earliest.
If I305 gets repainted, it better be part of a retheme.
If it does get repainted, and it’s not a part of a retheme, I hope they go with Diamondback’s new paint scheme. I always hated the yellow supports against the red track. It looks a little better now that it’s faded, but if they go bright yellow again it’d feel like a step backwards.
I personally understand the paint choices, but the ride does desperately need a new paint job. It’s so faded in spots, it’s practically white! If it’s part of a retheme away from nascar but not jungle X, I would like to see maybe more of a blue and grey/black color scheme, akin to Orion? With the trains retaining the black color but the trim colors can be orange and white?
I just desperately hope this doesn't happen. I think there's wide agreement that the Dale Earnhardt theme is doing absolutely nothing to benefit the ride or the park at this point, the park is heading away from individual ride themes in favor of themed areas, and that sandwiching some NASCAR thing back next to a prominent building themed to a secret government research facility was always stupid.
A repaint—which is very much needed—is the time to fix all of this. I'm firmly in the "this should be part of Jungle X" camp, but even if the park would rather go in a sci-fi direction back there, I'm fine with that too. (Shout-out to @mtpelepele's old concept!) KD needs to do something though—and sooner rather than later—and surely they wouldn't pass up the opportunity the inevitable repaint will soon afford then—surely.
2025 gets rethemed to a panther. 2026 gets rethemed again to Superman Ride of Steel.
Because when I’m riding, the supports just look like a blurry gray anyway
I think being in the American South, there are still plenty who like the NASCAR theming—I even see people take selfies with the stock car out front.
That being said—in the spirit of compromise might I propose:
IntimiGator 305: Dale Earnhardt of Darkness
Continuing the Jungle theme would be my first pick, but I’d still be more than happy with a sci-fi theme back there, as long as we have cohesion.

Allegedly, both Ride Crews for intimidator at Carowinds plus i305 were notified there would be a name change soon, I don’t know if this is true but something to definitely keep an eye on. Again this is just a rumor, could be complete bs, don’t shoot the messenger.
I’ve also heard this as well. To what I also don’t know, but from what I’ve heard, KD’s may be a temporary placeholder. Based on that information it sounds like KD may be gearing up for Jungle X phase II if the name is truly a placeholder.

That all appears to be the usual Cedar Fair Cinematic Universe stuff. Love the references but it doesn't look like, to me, that anything there implies I305.
This is interesting... what are we thinking, simply going by "I305" before a full retheme next(?) offseason?
