The story as pitched and the two images posted where models of the first launch theme.

"Mercury, the messenger god, is offering mortals a special tour of the Pantheon. To transport them, Mercury uses his magical portals. The first launch represents the activation of the portal, whisking the mortals into the Pantheon. Upon arrival, Minerva, the Goddess of Wisdom and War, warns Mercury that this is a terrible time for a tour. Jupiter, the God of the Sky, and Neptune, the God of the Sea, are locked in a heated battle. Ignoring the warning, Mercury continues the tour, but the mortals soon find themselves caught in the middle of the gods’ war. As the train launches forward and transitions to the backward launch, guests hear Jupiter preparing a devastating attack. They are launched backward, with a lightning bolt seemingly chasing them up the vertical spike. Just as they escape Jupiter’s strike, Neptune retaliates with a massive wave. The fourth and final launch represents Neptune’s tsunami-like attack, which knocks out Mercury. Cresting the top hat, riders are abducted by Pluto and dragged into the Underworld. From here, guests navigate the chaos of the Underworld, eventually reuniting with Mercury. Together, they race to find a portal back to the mortal realm. As the ride concludes, Mercury guides the mortals to safety, but not without humorously disclaiming, “I’m not responsible for any mortal damage during this voyage"

Dear @BGW ,

Please keeps tossing money at theme elements for rides (Pantheon, DarKoaster, Apollo, InVadr, ect) that you have rather than rushing to build another coaster.

Signed
(Hopefully) everyone
100% agree. The park already has 10 coasters (not including Grover’s). I don’t see much need to add more unless they remove one which, personally, I’d only be ok seeing Tempesto go. The only new rides they should add in the next 5 years is flat rides and maybe a new drop tower. Otherwise they should work on revamping existing rides. LNM was a good start and Verbolten sounds like it will be a huge hit. Next on their list should be Darkoaster, Pantheon, Griffon, Invadr.

I only say Darkoaster first because it doesn’t really have much else going for it.

Has anyone come across this?

Looks as if the 2024 Operations Interns were tasked by BGW to come up with a retheme with a defined budget, and looks quite impressive.
I did the BGW internship in 2019. Our project was useful. This is infinitely better. Thanks for posting the link. Pantheon deserves some incredible theming and story telling but I'd say it's not impossible for it to eventually happen given how the park has been improving itself and experiences available to guests as of late.

My first response to the longer, non bypassable queue is they must be trippin'. Maybe I haven't been there on the right, or more like wrong, day. That and the arches do look quite Rapterrian for 2024. Rest is certainly bold.

No, the queue concept is pretty out to lunch. The queue could be a little longer, but it definitely doesn't need to take up anywhere near the amount of space depicted in the PowerPoint. A relatively small queue building with switchbacks makes far more sense.

A lot of the on-ride ideas are good working with the ride's original theme, but I also sorta just think Pantheon's original theme sucked. I'd like a retheme project to take a different approach than "five random gods with no story or setting." Again, haven't fully decided what I would do, but I do think there has to be a better solution.

They created a story out of that nothing:

Not a good one and one far too complicated to relay on a large, outdoor, thrill-focused coaster.

BGW is full of coasters that execute story and setting well. Apollo, Nessie, Alpie, etc—simple, straightforward, easy. That's what Pantheon needs.
