Overhyped Rides

I wanted to love Magnum the way many do, but I just couldn't. The shake overpowered the airtime for me personally.

And Skyrush would've been overhyped for me, until I rode it again in the front and had a far more fun experience.

Tbh I've had many more rides I thought were underhyped instead. Perhaps I'm just easy to please, heh.

I gonna get dislikes and eye rollings for this but:
th13teen at alton towers, because of the marketing and promising it will be a thrill coaster with a age restricted rating while in reality its just a launch coaster that families enjoyed

Never knew th13teen had hype to begin with. It doesnt exist in anyones top 50 that ive seen lol Overhype doesnt just mean its any ride you find overhyped. It needs hype to be overhyped

Raging Bull

I keep coming back to this thread because I'm just in awe of this opinion. If anything I think Raging Bull is underhyped because I think it's probably a top 3 B&M hyper and most people put it on the lower end

Personally, I think every RMC built is overhyped. They're just not my type of ride at all. Lightning Rod with the launch was my favorite ride at Dollywood and probably my favorite RMC but without the launch I pass it up unless it's a walk on.

I prefer Grizzly to Twisted Timbers at KD. Maverick is one of my favorite rides ever. I don't really even try Steel Vengeance anymore. I like it but I'd definitely rather ride rides like Raptor or Millennium Force. I don't need -2 gs over and over to enjoy a roller coaster.

I much prefer its ancestors Maverick and Millennium Force.

On Mav you get inversions (which I love), the launched hill and beyond vertical drop rules, and you get that insane midcourse launch. Much better placesetting for the whips since you're flying thru rocks. The restraint design feels much more appropriate for the ride due to these elements.

MF gives you a great drop and sensation of speed while also making greater use of its vertical with those overbanks. Love the tunnels and support headchoppers. Again, much better placesetting. It has Aura that I can't really describe. Trains are great, just a lap restraint.

Pan is probably a case of "too much of a good thing." Because it is SO fast and intense I don't remember much about it beyond that insane drop and pullout (I saw stars) and a bunch of turns. There's a hill or two but I couldn't tell you where. I get why this ride has Mav type restraints due to the crazy whip but it doesn't feel like it is doing enough to justify it without the inversions. And I prefer a huge ride to have more vertical, I guess.
