Well I've heard from a lot of people that the parade will not be a part of IllumiNights this year.

Yeah, what will be the deal with Illuminights in France this year given that the concerts are in RPT? Thoughts?

I thought that they could move the Oyster's Secret to the Pepto Bismal tower and put Griffon Gifts in that empty half of the Griffon ride photo store.

I've been wondering why Griffon Gifts isn't in the photo store since Griffon opened. I know it helps with flow, but right now that building is essentially useless aside from ride photos.

I have two comments regarding this idea. First of all it seems like this might mess with the flow of people exiting from the ride. Second, there seem to be no precedent for doing things that way, especially if you look at the other coasters (even closed ones such as Drachen Fire and Big Bad Wolf) which all have/ had a separate building for ride related memorabilia. As a matter of fact it seems as if Busch Gardens is moving away from having ride related shops recently.

Not at all. In fact take a peek at my beloved Mouse. It has proven to be beyond a great idea and sells the crap out of merchandise.

When you say Mouse I am assuming you mean Disney. That point being taken, it still can be said that Busch Gardens has never used that (gift shop right at the end of their ride blocking exit except by proceding through it) as their standard setup to my knowledge. Can anyone think of a time that they have that I may not know about ( given I am young and have only been going to BGW since the 90's)?

Ah, you have yet to experience a discussion with my beloved mouse on here :D.

Escape From Atlantis indirectly spits you out through the gift shop. That is the only one outside of what Chris said that pops in my mind. My statement is more or so the fact that it wouldn't inhibit the guest flow out but if anything stimulate sales to those who are no more than a passerby to the tower.

The train station in Heatherdowns is one where they have done that.

One could argue you are not force to exit through the Gift Shop ( you can exit to either side), but that is a good point.

Indeed I have not. Point me in the direction of said previous discussion and I will be sure to study it. I hope I have not gotten into something deeper then I can handle by telling you to do this... heh.

Perhaps aimed toward those waiting for their loved ones to return from riding? I understand the merit of doing it this way, and hold out hope that it would bring them back to actually selling things in the gift shops related to the ride they were built for. For the life of me I cannot remember when I last saw an Escape from Pompeii shirt in its respective Gift Shop!

I think it is best to let it lie so that it is not to be rekindled. I can see Busch eventually changing the exit to drive sales though. It really is an ingenious process to cause memorabilia sales to thrive. If you go to Kennedy Space Center now all of their main attractions send you out through a give shop even. If NASA is doing it then you know it's good stuff.

I think a better question on that note is "Do they even still have any Pompeii merchandise?"
