Anything that is going to be announced won't be big. Just simply something the park can change or create without a bunch of permits since none have been filed and it would be odd for the park to announce something it hasn't even begin to prepare for.

I went to Alton towers the other week for a couple of hours. Just dropped in on the way back from Blackpool. I don't go to either often, as they are far away (in UK terms, anyway. Laughable distance as far as you guys are concerned).

Queues were longish, so we ended up in the hotel for a look around. I've never been in before.

When I first heard this Busch hotel rumour, I did suddenly thought "...why on earth don't they already have one?" Busch is a resort park, without the resort bit. It's weird. A destination park which attracts way more than locals... Without a hotel? Even our regional parks have hotels in the UK now and market themselves as "resorts".

Is there a reason?

Alton's got two themed hotels and I'd go as far to say their standard is better than the park. The potential Busch has to make something outstanding is a little scary... Imagine country themed rooms? Imagine different areas of the hotel having different themes, like the reception, pool, spa, restaurant, bar, etc. It would be amazing. Actually amazing. Ridiculous and amazing. I want it to happen and I want to go.

But I have a horrible feeling it won't be an epic themed experience hotel? Is there any evidence it will/wont?

Well I want to say I've heard of some construction-like equipment sitting in the boneyard, but it is just not being used. Perhaps they are waiting for just the right moment, maybe to announce the resort in the spring? Don't they usually come out in February or March and release what is new to come?

I have heard there's some sort of construction equipment on site somewhere but I'm inclined to believe it has to do with the work being done in England.

My guess is if there is construction equipment onsite it was for installing CT and is staying there to help take it down.

Not so sure about construction equipment being for Christmas Town? They only use fork lifts and lifts for install and take down, which aren't really that construction, and their lifts aren't really stored back there. They keep them sitting out and about, in case there is something that needs fixing up.

Yes I did say it was going to be announced then; however plans do change and so do whispers and rumors. Nothing is set in stone until announced. I am guessing that they decided not to announce it and announce this festival first which I really don't like at the moment. Just sounds bad to me. Maybe they are trying in increase the Spring season crowds so they can open earlier in the winter? As a means to draw in more people.

Either way, the construction equipment is on site, whether it is for the resort or England though, no one knows.

Is it really that easy to hear construction equipment from the boneyard inside the park? Over all the music, screams, people talking, rides running, etc?

Even the train plays music and makes noise so it's not as easy to hear from there.

Someone should ride Mach Tower during the day to see if any clearing is actually going on back there. If enough equipment is actually moving around, you should see something from up there.

I imagine you can't really see into the boneyard because no clearing probably has happened yet. From what I've heard the boneyard is still intact but with construction equipment inside and a few other things just laying around being "stored". As likely as this resort is, it is getting really hard to pin point when it will happen. Thanks Shane that info is actually quite helpful.

Looking at the plans the York County Board approved last year and with the roumors I have heard, the resort may be going in at Water Country. I have heard they want to turn Water Country into more of a resort.
