I want to be clear that I wasn’t involved with this- I just took those pictures yesterday while I walked by as a guest. I don’t work at the park.
That’s not what I was implying but ok. By skills I meant the picture you took.
I’ve hopped on over to this thread cause I don’t wanna flood the grizzly one with the topic of discussion but, the way the back half of Old VA is set up makes no sense, besides flying eagles. They literally have two up charge attractions and a gift shop surrounding grizzly, making the entrance to it feel crowded and like it was just wedged in between the two. So I’m pro remove go karts or at least move them els were, it would open up so much space for expansion and make it so people can actually find grizzly.

So glad they never took away the cars and left it all wooded. I was sure they were going to clear cut it and build a coaster at some point.

This new concrete pad has shown up in Old Virginia next to the arbor tunnel. I wonder if Old VA is finally getting some entry signage for the 50th?
most likely not. it is probably digital signs. carowinds recently added them all over the park.
They've been working on updating the Refresh Station upon entering Old Virginia (across from the Action Theater) the past several weeks. But as we're approaching Memorial Day weekend, seems they're nearing completion:
This refresh station has always been an welcome addition to Old Virginia, given the lack of other food and beverage offerings in the section; so is nice to see them work on improving it.
But what I was most excited to see is the inclusion of ICEE added to the one side - where ICEE's are of course included under the season pass Drink Plan+ package, and is now very nice to have one extra ICEE location in the park:
Regular Coke dispensers on the other side:
(And though it may have always been there, but I've never noticed it) If you look close at the sign, I like the Doc Pemberton reference, which fits into the Old Virginia theme:
