Easter is like renewing, or coming back to life. Rabbits symbolize reproduction so its new life. Eggs are basically the same, when they hatch it is new life. Easter is when Jesus came back to life, his new life.

And Easter is Jesus coming back to life not dying, I think him dying is pass over. I dont know alot about religion or anything but we learned this in my German class the other day.

You're right, it's mainly about the resurrection not the death. I'm a Catholic and when we have mass during easter we talk about the entire crucifixion and the resurrection.

As for the bunny, I'm guessing it's a fun holiday tradition for the family and kids (like how Santa is for Christmas)

Anyways this is getting kinda off topic... so about Oktoberfest...

Easter is just like christmas. Started off as a pagan holiday (bunnies, eggs? I think you see where this is going) and just like christmas a major event in the christian calendar was scheduled to be celebrated at the same time and became joined at the hip. There's probably a more accurate description but that is the gist.

I wont be able to see oktoberfest until late next month, but I hope the pretzel shop and beer garden are open by then.

When I'm there on Saturday, you'll can expect many more pictures (assuming that the weather isn't too terrible).

There's an excellent South Park episode that explains the origins of Easter. The Hare Club for Men plays a huge role.

I saw two new things in Oktoberfest today:

1. The soccer game is now open. The idea is that you kick two balls and they tell you the speed at which you kicked them. You then kick a third ball and are supposed to guess the speed.

2. There was a new painting on the right side of the Pretzel Shop (see below).

Also the shop isn't open yet like the park said it would be. There is now a sign in front that states it will be open next weekend. We shall see but the inside looks more promising for next week than it did last week.

PS: the pizza bar is amazing!

I agree that the sign on the wall of the pretzel shop looks bad. It looks like a cheap banner ad. It's not at all classy or fitting with the theme and atmosphere of BGW.

Why is it "¡Oktoberfest!"? Does German do the Spanish punctuation as well?

I agree with everyone else wholeheartedly about the sign. Sadly, I can't say that I was all that surprised by it. Also, why did they feel the need to put the park name and location on the side of a pretzel shop. It just doesn't make any sense. Same with the random heart- is that really the best they could do?

Balak, trust me, I wish this was all some sick joke, but alas, it isn't.
