Didn't get to the park till after dark so please excuse the quality. But major construction is finished and the fence is gone from the cocktail bar. There is still an opening soon sign on it.

Oktoberfest bar pictures from Thursday.

Edit: Attached a couple of pictures of the railing work over by Verboten, whatever this was done for.

The festa bridge is going to get similar refurb. BGW filed permits for it the other week.
One thing I noticed today is that the new railing sections are about a bit higher. Also noticed this in the queue line for Invadr, as a piece of wood was added to the top of the wooden railing making it a bit higher. Perhaps there has there been a change in code on how high railings need to be when doing rehab/replacement work?

The real Oktoberfest is full of dynamic modern and classic flat rides with spectacular lighting packages. BGW’s misses the mark. But still much better than Kings Islands neutered version.
I have actually had the idea- take Festhaus field and turn it into a mini version of the actual Oktoberfest- get some portable flats like a KMG Booster MAXX, maybe a himalaya, etc

To be fair, the initial concept for BGW’s Oktoberfest was the same as the park’s other hamlets — that it doesn’t represent a modern version of its real-life counterpart, but rather it represents some historical point in time. I was always under impression that BGW’s Oktoberfest was supposed to be set at some point in 19th century Bavaria. That would explain the vintage artwork and traditional German architecture throughout the area.

Of course, today’s Oktoberfest at BGW has a less clearly defined timeline, especially with Verbolten’s 1950s sports car theme. As a diehard believer in the “Old Country” theming, I’d personally prefer the Oktoberfest area to take continue to represent some time from the past, but I will agree that vibrant, in-your-face “modern” Oktoberfest would be a lot of fun.
