Oktoberfest (Germany)

Personally I like the current layout - I've noticed people tend to stop in there middle of intersections and by removing a decent sized one there I can get to the pretzels and beer faster (though to be fair, I'm making assumptions since I've personally never seen the bridge in place)
 
It would be a total clusterfuck if that bridge was still there. Verbolten, Mach Tower, Beste Brezelen und Bier, and the San Marco bridge are all right next to each other. People are already moving in so many different directions without the bridge, people will pause and watch Mach Tower, or just stand in the middle of the pathway for some reason, and there's a constant flow of people coming from the back of Oktoberfest. It's easily the busiest hamlet for most of the day and I don't think that bridge would help in any way shape or form if it was still around today. Even if it wasn't removed during it's original timeframe, I question if it would've lasted during the Oktoberfest refurb. As for a counter-point, that bridge looks really wholesome and quaint, and I would've enjoyed being able to walk on it at some point.
 
I recall most of this iron work to be on the current "bridge" by CoDK. Only the entrance arch is there now. No idea why the middle arches (as I recall) were later removed. The other arch was awkwardly placed on the side path from the Carousel photo-op. I don't know if this was relocated from the defunct bridge or was always there, also. I seem to recall some arches by the BBW side. I'll have to dig through photos.

I think Darkcastle closing has had an impact. When i was there the area in front of Verbolten to the swings was active but the other half of Octoberfest near Newcastle where the games are just seems to be a ghost town. They need a flat or some attraction on that side desperately.

I agree. When DarKastle was open, I would always see a decent number of people at Oktoberfest Games. Now, no one‘s ever over there and there’s nothing to do on that half, quite frankly. I heard from an employee that the track of DarKastle got messed up during HowlOScream, but they should try to get something new in there.

I'm not sure where to put this. Since I saw it today I will put it here. I don't think the food counter place in front of Darkastle has a name or I would put it with eateries. We were just at the park last Sunday and went back today. That counter food service place has had a stockade type fence put around it and has a sign saying "Pardon our dust". Not sure what they are going to put there.
