As the posts above mention it was supposed to get repainted to new colors over the winter but it got called off, so odds are that train was on order with the color changes

Great America just announced that Raging Bull is getting a repaint... and still nothing from Great Adventure while Nitro continues to rust...

Said it in the Raging Bull thread, but I can’t think of another coaster chainwide that needs a repaint more desperately than Nitro. I’d prefer they keep the current color scheme, but I’ll take the blue/gray that all signs point to over it continuing to look like it’ll give you tetanus if you stare at it directly.

Back around 2016, a group of us we're recreating great adventure in nolimits 2. I got tasked with making Nito's station and covered it in rust lol. That was 9 years ago.

Yeah, I'd love to see Nitro get a rebrand, retheme, and entry reconfiguration to integrate it into the Pine Barrens area. Roaring Rapids should be better integrated as part of this theoretical Pine Barrens expansion too. It's such a sick theme for an area of a theme park in New Jersey—I'd be thrilled to see it built out like Jungle X has been down at Kings Dominion.

Could very well be thoosies being dramatic about every detail of the park (the comments certainly are, how shocking), but if true, it definitely sucks to have Nitro down for any extended amount of time any year let alone this year.

Pretty sure it is down for planned maintanance and it is on the lift as others have said.

Back in June they imported the below description from KETTEN WULF BETRIEBS GMBH out of Germany.

I am assuming this was for Nitro, like Raging Bull September seems to be a popular time to squeeze in repairs before Fright Fest.
