But can we really be THAT optimistic about anything the park puts out in light of recent additions though?....

Shouldn't we be happy it's simply not Entwined?

This. Why are we not discussing the fact that festhaus is starting with a clean slate for 2015? TIO was dead when the stage was removed, and Entwined reportedly was widely hated. So instead of instantly hating this new show that doesnt even have a cast, why not think on the positive side?

For fucks sake. I know it's the minority opinion and that sort of thing isn't welcome around here, but come on guys.

If you're instantly hating something you've never seen and based your opinion on job listings... Then no, you'll never be optimistic.

I don't come here to read someone bitching about a show they've never seen, I come for discussion on new things coming to the park.

In all honesty, I hope this is like Scrooge No More, where most people on here seem to hate the description of the show, and then when hearing it was an extremely last minute change of theme, we got increasingly more upset. Because obviously its doomed to fail, given the track record. But, when we saw the show most people thought it was amazing.

This is my hope. And I hope for that for every new show. However, given the fact that they're asking for "German accents" and things like "twirling" and "magic", makes me err on the side of caution.

Low expectations, just means if it's an amazing show I'll be pleasantly surprised. And if it's awful then well, I just have more reason to avoid going into the Festhaus.

RE: New Das Festhaus Show for 2015

For the record I know for a fact 3 things:
1. The lighting has a chance to not suck, because of the space.
2. It will be hard for the sound to not suck, because of the space
3. I will not enjoy being there, because of the space. (I hate the beer hall)

In marketing we say the best indication of future performance is past performance. Based on this, I do not expect much. But this is just an indicator not proof positive.

RE: New Das Festhaus Show for 2015

I am going to hold out on negative remarks on the show until I see it, but with the character descriptions it sounds pretty shaky. It could possibly end up being the best most awesome show that the park has ever produced, but given the history with our swell pal Scotty G., I seriously doubt that will happen. I am slightly excited about the live musicians. At least there will be some live music, unless of course that is dubbed over. Until I see the show or we get more details on the specifics of the show, I will not make any specific comments and I will not be swayed by opinion before it has actually materialized. So that is my take for what it is worth.

Also, the use of accordions in this show scares the crap out of me. It only brings back horror images of the pretzel accordion from Clocktoberfest.

Beat me to it, Mazakman. "Partnering and lift experience, tumbling, CIRCUS and special skills a plus."

That word cues up in my brain a scene from the 'Bug's Life' movie, where the moron grasshopper sings, "a circus, a circus. I love a circus." lol. Then again, maybe they're looking for someone to clean up elephant dung...

RE: New Das Festhaus Show for 2015

Since I'm trying to be a little positive and optimistic for this show instead of being Debbie downer like I've always been told in these situations in the past, I'm going to break it down straight and simple.

What I see hope for:
1) Reading just what they need for casting and not descriptions, I see something promising. This is the exact set up in terms of casting they had for TIO. Two of the singers are non-dancing, if anybody remembers correctly, back in the rising stage days there used to be two designated singers, when the others would be dancing, they would wander off to a backstage area, or talk to guests until there was another vocal performance coming up. All along with the usual two singers that can dance, dancers, and the band.

2) After reading the description of the actors I suddenly find it hard to write #2, but as Applesauce has said, the content of the show doesn't seem promising at all, but there is a chance, and since there doesn't even seem to be a name finalized that they could change plans to make it more promising. Do I personally think it's going to happen? Not really, but it may.

3) One more little thing. Since most of the performers descriptions seemed weird and bizarre, perhaps we looked over the promising parts. They suggest that the musicians need "Marching Band Experience" which proposes the same opening that TIO used to have. Also, the dancing description for the singers is "partnering" which again proposes a TIO structure dance wise.

4) Oh, one final thing, having read the audition-calls thoroughly in the past(specifically for new shows), some of the description, especially the special talents section, are never actually used in the show. Could we see this happen here perhaps?

Things I find worrying:
1) No Tuba, terrifying. Fix it.

2) I don't see a real need for the accordion at all. The only reason it seems to be in there is because it's a stereotypical German musical instrument.

3) As pointed out before, some of the cast descriptions are terrifying. Why do the male dancers need to bring jazz shoes to the auditions? Why do Singers #1 need a German accent? Why on earth are silly circus-like talents recommended? Nothing of this sounds promising.

4) The fact Zachary is saying he's heard it is a replacement for Entwined, meaning it will be similar to Entiwned, is not at all good. If they have surrendered trying to make Entwined work, why would you even suggest to make something similar to it?

5) If truly this turns out to be similar to Wunderbarn, I think I might just die. In my opinion, Wunderbarn was one of the most embarrassing, and truly sickening shows the park has ever made. And in my honest opinion it was far worse than Entwined. Between unnecessary fart jokes, offensive German stereotypes, childish costumes, and a chicken dance that took up probably half the show, it was truly unbearable. So as far as Wunderbarn and this show goes: do not want.

Okay, all done.

RE: New Das Festhaus Show for 2015

They clearly left out one important qualification: "proficient at using a rubber chicken". Fixed it :p lol

RE: New Das Festhaus Show for 2015

I'm putting my money on a German circus. The space makes sense. The ceiling already looks like a big top and you could easily have a center ring. But I'm guessing this would be Cirque De Soleil meets sad clowns meets glitter.

In other words,

F**K
