I wouldn't look too much into the Celtic Fyre/SNM references, they used CF repeatedly for LR, and look how that turned out.

The German accent thing also scares the crap out of me. Every accent the park has shoved down actors'  throats in recent years was absolutely horrid, with the small exception of Celtic Fyre, and perhaps SNM, but those are easy accents to pull off. When you get into Germanic accents, French accents, etc. it will take a lot of work for any non-native speaker to pull off a decent accent.

The portrayal of the people in the show, I hope will turn out to be somewhat traditional or accurate. But every past Gasparich German production has been terrible stereotypical representations.

I'm just hoping everything we've seen out of SG in terms of German shows performs a 180 and we see something accurate for once.

Don't knock the Irish accent - its surprisingly difficult to get right. What's funny is the fact that a German dialect is actually not too difficult if someone just teaches you like five words of Hochdeutsch (High German).

"Roll Out The Barrel incorporates the best elements of the park’s repertoire of shows. Live musicians, singers and dancers join high-flying acrobats in this interactive musical about the intrepid brewers of this delightful German village. The same musical team behind Scrooge No More!, the park’s popular new Christmas show, is orchestrating the score for this one-of-a-kind show."

I still don't see the correlation between "high-flying acrobats" and the theme of this show that we've heard thus far.

I gotta agree 100% with that. When I read the following:

"Aerial acrobats, singers, musicians, dancers and actors portraying German beer brewers will take the stage at Busch Gardens this year in a new show celebrating the theme park’s 40th anniversary."

...my heart hit the floor. Flying monkeys? Flying brewers? It would be nice if SG kept everyones feet (including his own) firmly planted ON THE GROUND! I'd love to be optimistic about this show, but everything I've read so far has my gut believing that it will be a grandiose, majestic, over-the-top (literally) catastrophe/fiasco. I sincerely hope I'm wrong. Maybe they'll give free beer samples to the adults to help ease the pain (yes, that was sarcasm)....

Well themed or not, I am welcoming this show with open arms over Entwined.
Oh, there's no doubt that the bar is set pretty low for this new show, lol!

This description terrifies me: "interactive musical about the intrepid brewers."

Interactive how?  Awful audience participation?
What on earth is an "intrepid brewer?"  And yes I know the words mean.  They just make no sense to me juxtaposed like that.

Are we AGAIN judging a show before its premiere? Jesus Christ, we constantly jump to conclusions over paragraphs.

This is not singling anyone out, but a general statement to the board.

I need a beer.

If you thought we wouldn't jump to conclusions about the show, then it wouldn't be BGWFans.

However, that being said I think it's fairly normal for people to jump to conclusions about something given it's descriptions? I mean that's sort of the whole point, is to get an idea about if you're gonna like something or not. It's why books have summaries and movies have trailers.

At best I have meh feelings about the new show. Most things are better than Entwined and the last versions of TiO. I just wish they'd stop with the acrobatics and the going on adventures schitck they keep trying to put into shows. I really don't understand why a brewer would go on an adventure to begin with. You don't really need things like acrobats and adventures to have a decent show. (Example: Celtic Fyre.)

^^THIS.

The summary/description that we've been given sounds like a POSSIBLE mash-up of Entwined and the former, purposely demoralized revisions (mutations?) of TIO. Brewers. Acrobats. Adventure. How can a human have a 'positive' thought process when adding those 3 words together is quite frankly beyond my comprehension. You know, blurbs and ads are supposed to get people excited. I'm not excited based on what's been released so far.

That being said, anything is possible...and it might turn out fantastic. Sadly, the grandiose, glittery letdowns spewed from a certain entertainment director leaves much more than a small amount of doubt. Hey, sometimes we get lucky. It's my hope that this new show IS a surprise hit. We'll see.

My thoughts so far,

From the first description of the show released through the local media, I had neutral feelings on if this show would be good or bad. It is supposed to be a 40th annual beer brewing festival at a fictional German town. It seemed like it could turn out rather well.

By the current official description. I have gotten a bit more positive that they are using the same team that worked on Scrooge No More's music. This means that if the show may really come out musically well. The only thing that is a bit worrying is that it sounds more and more like Killarney Kommotion - a fictional town holding a celebration/festival.

However, I'm just at the point of not caring and seeing what comes out and hoping it's good to me.

SnM didn't contain acrobatics at all. Flying =/= acrobatics.

Entwined had acrobatics. I'd even go to argue that MS and LR didn't have acrobatics. (Though I'm not 100% sure on that, since there's no recording of the show I can look-up to prove or disprove my statement.)

Also, we were hating on the original plan for Scrooge No More: a London Rocks-esque story of a washed up rock star. I still get queasy when I think about it.

I think people are upset about the plan for Roll Out The Barrel. I could easily decide I love the concept of a show based on acrobatic, adventurous brewers. But it sounds like the entire show will be built around what is, in my mind, a terrible concept. Could plans change? Sure, that's what happened with Scrooge No More. Right now, though, the plans for the show don't look very appealing.
