Ok i gave it onee more shot today this version of Mix It Up is awful I cant see me watching it much more this season after watching this show the 1st few years and how great it was to the point now seeing them not able to hold the notes like they should and the drum line is no where as talented as the past ones equals one bad show......to bad they dont cancel this one like they did last years show.....

Bama, we get it. If you think past year's musicians were better than this year's, then you don't know what instrumental talent is. The reason this year's sound different is because the musicians don't rely on back up tracks that used to make up almost half of the audio at some points. This year is much more natural. If you can't realize that, it's your loss.

Its not just the music its the whole show the past players put on a much better show to watch than this group live music or not there is plenty of track music in this years show also. Thats not something that bothers me its the way the performers act and the changes in the show it no where neer as fun to watch anymore. Hey Celtic Fyre and London Rocks use plenty of taped track ans it dont bother me one bit.

Okay.... If you don't like this years version so much, why do you go back to see it? See, I hate Entwined and LR, so I avoid those shows. I certainly don't go to see them again, because it just makes me hate them more and more.

So, Bama, you don't like Mix It Up, period. That's fine, since it's your opinion. I think you've made your point clear now, that you find the show quite the run-on to watch. Maybe they just need to learn to better break things up, so Scott can really make his point be clear instead of his ideas being a mish-mosh of nonsense. I do agree that there are a few unnecessary moments that punctuate the show.

I'm pretty surprised by the negative responses to this show! I thought the guys were great! I guess I'm not as biased as everyone here because this was my first time seeing this show. But I loved it. It's a bit on the loud side and it scared my daughter, so we couldn't stay for all of it. I can't blame the sound on the cast though. But from what I saw, it was great. Super talented guys, a lot of playfulness and interaction which made me feel very connected to what was happening on stage. Just fix the sound levels and Mix It Up is a solid show! Keep it up boys!

I have heard mostly positive feedback of this year's show. I love the fact that the performers are actually playing this time. In previous years, I found it almost appalling at what extent they used recorded tracks to fill in for difficult parts. They even had recordings of instruments never featured in the show. The "Zuppa" scene (no longer in the show) was about 90% pre-recorded. This year, the few pre-recorded tracks that they use are only for instruments that can't feasibly fit on the stage. That means we are hearing live music. It is essentially what I want to expect from Busch Gardens quality.

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble but there is nothing different with the tracks other than them not playing the Zuppa number. Zuppa was actually a recording of the original drummers and played back for more emphasis since the boomwhackers were having a hard time being picked up through the mics. This year there are actually some parts missing in the music that were played by the sax in previous years. Also there are certain half measures that are being left out for them to breathe this year. So in a sense this year's musicians are playing slightly less especially when they have nine horns to cover only 8 written parts. But who's counting? Let's not take away from any cast but let's be fair and honest with what's really happening on stage. This is in no disrespect to the performers because it's not their decision but now that every thematic element is gone, this is nothing but a street show and has no need for a stage. Boogie Band?

They've added a 45 second or so segment to the pots and pans part of the show. Towards the middle of the pots and pans segment they put the barrels down, and the drummers sit on them and drum on the barrels, it's actually quite nice.

At one of the shows today, you could really hear missed notes. I was hoping this group would get better, but.........

No way Matthew the LR cast blows away the MIU cast by a million to one. LR will still be there after MIU is gone....thank goodness..

For the record, I find every argument related to theme irrelevant after seeing pirate swords in this show. If pirate swords are okay in this show, then clearly America is good to stay in Italy.

If they really wanted to twirl batons, just use real batons then. Or if it must be themed for the show, use something like a long skinny spoon or butter knife. Those would fit the theme much better.

They was a girl when we saw it on my Hazing Day, so she has been part of the cast for a while now.

She wasn't there yesterday, perhaps she's an understudy? Or a swing, other than LR, MIU is the only show that performs all week, so that would make sense.
