RE: Minor Changes in 2014

There is only the explosion from the top now a days. But they usually don't turn it on till night.

RE: Minor Changes in 2014

I felt like posting this here because it's a change in a way. Kings Dominion lost a really great employee, George. He worked at front entrance and was one of the few people who scanned your ticket as you walked into the park. 2 years ago, George turned 90 and his fellow co-workers decorate his booth as a birthday surprise, which you never see. KD Golden Years posted this on their Facebook page earlier today and some of his former co-workers shared some of their experiences working with this man and I suggest some people reading them as they're delightful and show's this mans work.

Rest in peace George... you sure helped start a day of memories for many park patrons!

RE: Minor Changes in 2014

In case you you didn't see it on Facebook/ Twitter/ or Instagram, Kings Dominion has placed a plaque in place where George worked. When I was there on Sunday, no one was operating the booth and I don't suspect anyone to for the time being.

RE: Minor Changes in 2014

Thank you for sharing, Evan. I truly find it amazing that George loved his job and cared so much about his fellow coworkers and making memories for others that he continued to go strong, working at Kings Dominion until the end. I am touched at how Kings Dominion has handled his passing, and I find it both caring and respectful. George certainly will not be forgotten!

RE: Minor Changes in 2014

As far as I know, this is the first video that actually features our new PR manager, Katelyn!

By the way, as annoying as the song is, this is actually a pretty neat video.

Fran Watch 2014

I don't know if you guys have heard, but longtime KD ride operator Fran, my dearest friend, was recently sent to the hospital. Upon recovery, she has been transferred to Action Theater and Eiffel Tower, and is no longer working her longtime position at Drop Tower.

Here's to you, Fran. We love you.

Thread merged with the "Minor Changes 2014" thread.

As much as we all love the "older" workers around the park, this is the better place for it to be shared. Get well soon Fran! Drop Tower/ Wave Swinger won't be the same...
