This excerpt from the final paragraph of that first page seems to be saying they’re splitting off undeveloped land of the park to be sold? And then keeping the existing developed park land.

Having looked at the Google maps version of the park from overhead, essentially Parts 1 & 3 are the left half of the park, with the rides and exhibits, but Parts 2 & 4 are practically undeveloped, and that’s over half the park’s area they own. And from what I’ve heard, the part guests can access is huge as it is. I doubt they need that much land, and could probably get a pretty penny for it. So it essentially just sounds like they’re trying to downsize the amount of the land they have, sell it, and boom now they have money to go toward investing in the park. I’m also not an expert by any means, but this doesn’t spell out doom in my eyes.

Update (I got this info from an industry friend who attended this hearing) ...

So a month ago today, they had a public hearing about a request to rezone a few sections of land.

Whoever the new owners are, they want to raise some cash to get things started. To do that they need a loan. The entity loaning the money wants some assurance that they will be able to pay it back…. So, the new owners are proposing that they cut the park into four separate properties. It would just be two but there’s a rail line that runs through the park so it makes it four pieces. Two of the pieces have the existing park stuff in it, the other two are all vacant land. So, they are doing this so they can say, “Okay, worst case, if we can’t pay this back, you can have these two big chunks of land.” If everything goes fine, nothing changes and the park still owns all the land. The money is being said to be used to transfer all of the remaining animals out and get that taken care of. After that they expect the new owners to go public.

At the hearing, someone asked who the new owners are and the representative wouldn't say, HOWEVER, a member of the public spoke and revealed it was the grandkids of park founder John Holer who have every intent of continuing the park as a theme park and transforming it.

The motion passed, all parties seem happy with the outcome.

Not entirely convinced that it's for Marineland, but maybe United is testing the waters for trying to score operating contracts with some parks in Canada? (Galaxyland? La Ronde? Water parks?)

My thought is that jumping all the way from the existence of a trademark for United Parks & Resorts in Canada to "United Parks is probably renovating Marineland" is insane. Yeah, they filed for the brand's trademark last year... you know, the year United Parks & Resorts announced their new name. Maybe, just maybe, that timeline analysis is a little more relevant than what's happening with Marineland? The fact that such an overtly obvious counterpoint isn't even touched on in the video is a massive red flag. In fact, he never once challenges his own seemingly-wild assertions which tells me this is almost certainly conscious clickbait with little care for actually conjuring and presenting a reasonable prediction.

Is it possible United Parks has considered and may be attempting a deal of some sort for Marineland? Yep, probably totally possible. I have seen no information to say one way or the other—but based on that video, I'm confident this guy hasn't either.

1. That is a clickbait channel
2. If you look at that record in WIPO Madrid. The United Parks & Resorts trademark was applied for in the USA, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Canada, China, EU, UK, and Mexico.

Lol no. Not an Amusement Insider, actually.

Yes that was yours truly who attended and asked, I'm a Niagara guy :) I felt like an absolute chump for doing so but whatever, nothing better than a good mystery.

Those who know are under iron NDA's but my suspicion is that it's a bunch of local investors rather than some international conglomerate. Niagara heavyweights and bigwigs, no Six Flags.

The kids aren't involved with the park anymore and know as much as we do frankly, but would support a revival.

Will continue to keep an ear out for things.

Searching through past trademarks Sea World had a previous Canadian one. Also much of what was described in the category could apply to the Sea World rescue and rehabilitation program. Not sure what if any Canadian footprint they have but it's certainly a possibility not really discussed in the video. On top of that while certainly not an expert on corporate disclosure laws I maintain the belief that as a publicly traded company the process could not be as far along as many signs point to it being without a public disclosure having been made to stock holders.

Somebody should really consider refurbishing and reserecting the Topple Tower.

Would it make business sense? Probably not, but would be darn cool to see one in action again in North America.

I expect Dragon Mountain to be scrapped, and the smaller family/kiddie rides to be sold off... but I think the most interesting prospect here would be the 300-foot Sky Screamer triple S&S tower - as long as it's in good condition.

I could see that slotting into Canada's Wonderland (they have a smaller model (230 feet-tall Intamin second gen version) that could be replaced, or going to Carowinds or Six Flags Great Adventure, who both lost drop towers during the last off-season removal. Or even SFMM if they want to take the SBNO Superman tower down and remove Drop of Doom.

Somebody should really consider refurbishing and reserecting the Topple Tower.
I think this was scrapped? They still have the Huss Condor and Zierer Star Shape as big flat rides, but I think the market for this is pretty low given how rare these rides are in North America.

The likelihood that this will reopen as a Theme Park is now pretty much zero with this news coming out
I disagree, honestly. The current owners seem desperate for cash to relocate the animals, because no one will buy the place until the animals are gone (leaving ALL liability with the prior "administration").

Marineland really doesn't have many rides and only two of them are less than 20 years old. Lost Island cost about 100M to build and opened with more rides than Marineland currently has, and I have to imagine anyone that can afford to buy the property could afford to replace a few flats.

The park has a few fantastic, rare flat rides. Zierer star shape (which is absolutely amazing) and flying carpet and Huss magic and condor. The condor is in bad shape because it did not operate the last few seasons. If it ever does reopen as a park, it’s a shame that it won’t have those unique rides.

Dragon Mountain is one of my favorite all-time coasters. It’s so unique. The final drop in the tunnel is one of my top coaster moments.

There’s no way this coaster could ever be relocated as it is on a custom built mountain. I understand that they got the fill for this mountain when there was a canal constructed nearby.

Honestly the surprise to me is that Dragon mountain is even being sold. I thought it would simply be scrapped. There’s not really any parks that have the land space for ride of that size, unless they want to remove portions of it to scale the ride down.
