Both Trade Winds and Tempesto were going through active testing and training this afternoon I would not be at all surprised to see one or both suprise soft open in the near future based on what I was seeing probably trade winds first and Tempesto may next week.
Trade Winds is open today. Tempesto is not testing today

Prince Elmo's Spire has been open since the start of Mardi Gras. Not sure why it's still listed as closed on their website.

They're doing employee ERT this weekend for Tempesto according to a friend who works at the park... Not sure why... Especially since most employees are probably working this weekend anyway and can't go to it.

Oh true. I just dont remember it happening last year but I have a trash memory
Most rides opened the same weekend last year, and the past few years

I’d imagine that’s because they removed the comfort collars.
I was referring more to the timing of it, and choosing to keep it closed another weekend makes no sense. This time of year few employees have the weekend days off, and it's only open to those who have the day off. Seems way smarter to open it up to the public this weekend, and do employee ERT on the weekdays next week when the park is closed to guests... Or if they specifically want to give employees early access before guests, then they should have done the ERT this past week.

And with the rumor of Alpengeist breaking or whatever the hell happened, be nice to open it now to make up for alpen being closed. (If it is)

I rode InvadR last Friday, didn't expect that, running better? I think a few people were on Tempesto but mostly empty training runs. Pantheon more down than up at first but eventually got it together. Muffaleta was great, included spicy slaw unexpected plus, left mouth burning.

I had the Crawfish Étouffée, Doberge Cake, and King Cheesecake Bar this season. The Etouffee was incredible. Just the right amount of spice, tasty sauce, decent portion, and not unbalanced between rice and fish.
The Doberge Cake just tasted like a nice slice of vanilla cake. Nothing special, but better than the regular season cake at the park.
The King Cheesecake Bar was the big standout though. Delicious. Not too much pastry, just enough to hold it together, really nice creamy filling with plenty of it, a great cinnamon flavor, and overall very good. The texture was a bit tough to cut through though because it's got pretty thick filling and they only give you a fork, no knife.
Was pretty impressed with what I ate this year.
Out of the shows, Carnaval Imaginique was phenomenal, and the Jazz Band was so talented, although the mic on the clarinet was a bit unbalanced and (as a pro clarinet player, may not be noticed by normal audience) the tone was fairly gritty when it shouldn't have been, and I couldn't hear any low notes and only barely hear it when there were high notes. A shame, dude was talented. Surprised they used a slide trumpet instead of a trombone.
