Highs right now for last weekend in Jan are 43 35 41. Everything will be closed again except for the few shows.
My impression of this event is that the emphasis is on specialty food and the new cirque show in the Globe. Much like Christmas Town, the rides aren’t really the main focus.
That’s the way it should be. except Christmas Town has 5 shows, lights and the train. This event is still dependent on the advertised rides to fill a day. I actually had reservations this weekend but canceling because it looks like there might be an hour or two of entertainment each day
Is anyone else going to be trying to make it out to BGW this weekend just to see the new show? I’ve heard that the people that run the show are the people that did BGT’s when they had theirs. The show should be good. I’m just wondering what on earth we’re going to see, because all we know is that it’s a Cirque show. That’s pretty much it. I’m hoping that this will blow me away, so I have my expectations set real low.
If it’s similar to KD’s or other shorter Cirque shows, they are usually well produced and entertaining. They don’t have the depth of a full Cirque show, but the 30 minute format somewhat limits the production.
I didn’t attend the event last year, but I’m pretty excited about the desserts at Das Edelweiss, especially since I love the F&W Festival beignets. Can I expect the same quality and portions as F&W?
Until/unless they run into supply issues and they suddenly become completely different, yes.
Yes, I would expect the kiosks to be very similar to what you would expect from F&W. Just different options.
I went to WW yesterday. Was thinking Squires Grill would be a different place to eat since it hasn't been open that much this past year. It was open but that is where things totally failed. I notice they are listed as being open for Mardi Gras, too. With temps expected to be in the 30's both yesterday and predicted for this coming weekend the tent behind the sweet shop would be the logical place to go to stay warm and eat your food while it was warm. Well, the entire deck area was roped off and closed and even if it had been open the sides of the tent had been removed so that all it was, was a cover over your head. You would like to think whatever the reason was/is they would have that heated tent functioning and open for Mardi Gras since there will be food available throughout this event. Also, at WW the Smokehouse was not open and even though the tents were still there they weren't heated.
The inclusion of Loch Ness Monster's cave is very weird.
Maybe an attraction that could open later on, or even as a backup?

Probably just forgot to take the cave off the map... Doesn't seem like they meant to leave that in at all.
Is the “we’ve gone digital“ referring to the medium of the park map?
Unfortunately this is one of the early Covid restrictions that the park hasn’t brought back. Having to look everything up via app, particularly during events can be quite annoying, and really takes away one of the nicer tangible products of a park visit (especially for young kids).
I hope that map is preliminary. Looks like they left off a few things advertised for Mardi Gras. Grogan's Grill & Pub are missing. As mentioned, the Globe is missing. Lulu's is missing. Just goes on and on. You would have thought like they do at F&W they would have emphasized the places with the special foods for Mardi Gras. Looks just the opposite.
